Membership Subscription Issue

As my current membership was expiring, my goal was to upgrade my membership level when the current subscription expired.  Since the membership was setup for autorenewal through Paypal, according to the instructions I needed to cancel the subscription first. I did this using the link in the instructions. When I returned to the membership subscription page, I selected the upgraded membership level.  Unfortunately I don't believe the current subscription level was cancelled.  The charge was approved for the difference in membership levels and since this membership expires in a couple of days another invoice was generated for the renewal at the higher membership level.  My objective is to upgrade to the higher level subscription; however, upgrading the existing membership for a few days is a mistake.  Is it possible to remove this interim upgrade charge?

Unfortunately, that's how this system works... I don't really care for it, but it's a built in system and not something I can fix.  It upgrades your current account, but it prorates the difference between the time used and time left of the subscription.  It charges for the difference in time left of the original subscription.  The renewal would be at the normal rate for the full year. 

I can refund the upgrade, it would downgrade to whatever it was previously.  Then once the renewal takes place you can upgrade it after the renewal is done.  The way it works evens out even as you get the higher tier for the rest of the subscription time.  Just PM me here or on Discord and we can figure it out.
