woodsy15 Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 Been having an issue since day 1 where I often have no sound rotating through tables on the popper front end (no flipper sounds while choosing table) This can be ok, the table can launch without issue. However there are frequent times where the table launches and I have no 7.1 surround. Only the backglass 2.1 sounds are present. If I exit the table and then immediately launch again the table loads with full 7.1 surround sound, all flippers and table sounds are there. I have been writing this off as cheap china amps from amazon going to sleep or cutting out randomly but I am wondering if there is something more software based going on?? Setup: 10.8.0 beta 64bit Startech External USB 7.1 soundcard Amps from Amazon for backglass, and surrounds (Nobsound HiFi 2.1 Channel Bluetooth 5.0 Power Amplifiers) Dayton exciters and Dayton BST-2 shaker
woodsy15 Posted January 15, 2025 Author Posted January 15, 2025 Realized today that I can launch a table straight from VPX and not have surround sound. So eliminates Popper as an issue. Theory now is USB on the motherboard is a bit low on voltage from so many devices and the Startech USB sound card is not getting enough juice. That, or the Chinese Amps from Amazon are cutting out/not waking up from a sleep mode... Putting this here incase it helps someone else
