Question on Playfield LEDs

Hello Everyone!

 

   Just a few things left on my cab build to decide upon, and I have on the edges the option to do LEDs that face up towards the player or in towards the play field (or both).  I know there are two different DOF LED selections for playfield LEDs (Flashers and Effects).  I'm thinking most folks combine the two and have both effects run on one strip but wondering if anyone has done one strip for each effect, and (regardless of that choice), if folks have preferred LEDs facing up to the player or in to the cabinet?
