The launcher works great. I can start and stop tables. The problem Im having is when I bring up the overlay. I cant realy see it. I have to close one eye to try and read what table to select. Its like the overlay is in 2d or not converting to vr. Been searching and cant find a fix.

Depending on if you are on one of the later versions like the latest 0.99 you can hit the end/back/close button when on a table to open the F12 menu and then hit the "add a coin" key to pull up the F12 settings, there you can flipper over to VR Tweak UI X and Y and adjust with the magna keys. Note, if you adjust the "Tweak" menu with VPX/VR (without using the VPX Launcher) this will affect the F12 menu also.

Ok. So I got it focused now. But when I go into the overlay. Its HUGE. I can only see the names of tables. I have to try and turn my eyes to see anything else. Also how do i change the overlay theme.  Also if I use the back back/exit button. Then coin. I cant see the settings. They are too far to the left or right. Its like the overlay is HUGE. My width and height is set to default 50. I tried lowering in Registry but nothing happened.

what did you do that it wasn't so huge anymore. same issue i'm having. I figured out the double effect having to close one eye above. but not how huge the overlay is.

Hit the "add a coin" button with the menu open, there you will see settings to resize the menu.

Hi guys!

I have the same issue, too wide by far - and even if I hit the "add coin" button, the settings menu comes up but the relevant options are way too far to the left for me to see anything!

Not sure what value to change either... will "width" squeeze the whole menu or not? The list of table is nicely in the middle, but the little pinball images are wasted as too much to the left, I barely see them at the corner of my eye.

(I have a Quest3, with accumulated 300+ tables that all work fine otherwise)

Is there a settings xml or ini file we can edit manually to avoid getting headaches trying to see at the very corner of the screens to edit some values blind? :)

Thx!

Replying to myself...

After 10 minutes of left eye mild torture, I manage to reach the correct setting in the left column and reduce how widely spread the items were! - the "Width" setting works nicely and compresses the options, table bitmaps, wheel more in the center. 50% is best for me. Not sure why the default is so wide?? Maybe it's just my setup.

Anyways: all good now!

I really do love this popup launcher menu embedded within VPX, it's ace! Incredible job Basti!!

Now I need to dig into the filters/favourites etc, and make the most of it.

Thanks a lot! That was exactly what I was looking for.

But....somehow my new settings are not saved. If I start a new table and then quit with my exit button, the dimensions look as I have never changed them.

Just for the case that it helps. I changed the values for width and hights with the magna save buttons, then I pushed one time the 1 / start button which lead me to the filter setting, then I pushed 1 / start again and that lead me to the tables menu. At this point everything is fine. But as I already wrote. After starting a new table and returning to the table menu the changes are gone.

Same thing with the graphic templates. I can chose one. But as soon as I go back to the menu from one point it is gone as well.

Have I done something wrong? Is there maybe a ini file where I can make the change permanently?

Edit:  I found the config file in vpxlauncher folder. I tried several settings but it seems to have no effect at all.

I don`t know.....I guess someone just have to live with things like that. After I tried everything yesterday countless times, I just tried it once more today and everything seems to be fine. WTF?!?!?!?!? :)

I'm pretty sure I read that the Launcher doesn't save those settings until you exit it completely (Hold down EXIT button until it quits).

Thanks for the feedback. I can`t comprehand anymore if this was the problem. I tried it the next day after countless tries the day before and suddenly it worked.

Fraq,

It is a bit mysterious, and the documentation is a bit out of date. On Discord, Basti  (the author) is quite responsive to calls for assistance and suggestions. When I first started using VPX-Launcher, it seemed a bit weird to configure. Took me a while, but I was new to VR as well, so had a lot to pick up at once. One thing that I did within the launcher that has made it SO much better to use (IMO), is to remove the background graphic completely. I just have a simple dark grey background, and I changed the highlight text to lime green, so it works well for my old eyes. The launcher comes with "templates" which are graphics with transparent sections. I messed around for ages trying to get it to look good for me and tried them all, but once I went to no template, and adjusted the background and font colours, I find it way more usable. YMMV...

Hey RDTAYLOR, thanks a lot for sharing your experiance.

I think it`s convenient to have a menu inside VR. I personally don`t feel like I need it a 100%. Because if I play, I try to concentrate on max. 2-3 tables. But if you have visitors that are not used to navigate with all the VR controls this works very well.

I'm in the same boat. I just cannot see the damn menus to change the size, it's way up in the top corner and impossible to focus on. Why did they make it so big? And can't even edit an ini file or anything?

Still having issues? If so, try opening a table with just the GL.exe (not the VPX Launcher) hit F12 and make adjustments to the menu location there. Then go back to the launcher and see if your adjustments made it possible for you to work with the menu.

To save anyone pain i suffered :)

You need to hit "5" to save the settings just as you would hit F12 to save settings. Ig you hit "Q" to go back it doesnt save. And yes torture to the eyes so set the GL to VR off in VR settings -> Q for Launcher -> 5 for settings -> setup menu (i use 40% x,y at 400 depth) -> then press 5 to go back to menu and should be saved.
