After installing Future Pinball on my Full Cab I cannot play any tables.

Question

Posted

Help please,...  After installing Future Pinball and BAM Essentials AIO - 2.7.zip from Terry Red's link on the MOTU table,  I can open Future Pinball and load a table but when I select F5 to play table it never loads the table.  It wont even load the demo ramp table.  No loading screen  no errors, just hangs while getting CPU and Memory time in task manager.  The only way to get my desktop back is to kill it in task manager.  I have ran through the same procedure on my test machine and everything works perfectly as I always pre-test anything new before it hits my main cab.  This is a fresh load of Future Pinball on both machines as I previously only ran Pinball FX and Visual Pinball on them.  Not sure what could be the issue or what to check at this point.  Both PCs are windows10,  7th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 Processors, 32G Ram and GTX1080 video cards on ASUS StrixROG gaming motherboards.  All drivers and windows updates current.  Thank you for any direction ya can point me into to resolving this in advance.

Assuming you disabled Defender / set exceptions for the FP folder and didn't have any files blocked / removed.

Try running FPLoader.exe as Administrator "once". Then close FP. Then try running "Start FP - PinEvent PuP-Packs.bat" and then set your resolution in FP. Test with New Table. If it works, don't worry that the FP Backbox didnt show up as that disabled it.

If it didn't work, then try running the bat in the pic to reset your display IDs. Reboot your PC then ensure your monitor in Windows display settings are setup as "required". Then run "Start FP - PinEvent PuP-Packs.bat" and test New Table again.

If you get New Table working...

Then test a newer PinEvent table like MOTU CE to make sure it works. If you are using a pup-pack, be sure you have the newest pinup player 1.5 update as required for that table. Make sure you ran the correct Option bat in the pup-pack folder for your setup and installed the included cfg file for a proper pov.

Once you have that working.... then you can try running FP tables with the FP internal Backbox screen. Run "Start FP - Backbox" and then in FP video settings make sure your Backbox resolution is set correcty. You may need to change the DISPLAY # to different values until you get one that works. This is usually the problem most people have.

If you can't get the FP Backbox to work... then you can still run PinEvent tables... and DMD based tables (using dmdext to mirror the FP DMD on your cabinet.
