I was reading about the iOS VPX version and its support for all necessary files in one zipped .vpxz.  It sounds very convenient and easy (I think I had requested a feature like this years ago), so why not implement it for desktop VPX?  What are some thoughts on this?

Yeah, I would have at least thought the macOS version would support it since iOS and macOS are similar in many ways. But no.

Although, as far as I can tell, it’s not a true file format. I think iOS VPX is just essentially importing its content and placing the vpx, b2s, and rom file into the familiar file structure which, to me, isn’t the greatest of implementations.

You can basically delete the vpxz after import because iOS VPX isn’t actually reading the vpxz file once it’s done importing it.

I also don’t think we’ll get answers here. I don’t think the vpinball devs read this forum much or at all. But you can open an issue on the vpinball/vpinball github repo.

I wouldn't open an issue on github for something I don't even know is possible/feasible/practical/worthwhile.  Just wanted to get some thoughts on it.  I realize the devs don't post here, but if we aren't going to use these forum categories for discussion they may as well just shut them down.  A file with all the collected parts necessary for a table all in one place always seemed like a good idea to me, but I admit I have no idea how this works on iOS as I will probably never use it.
