LeanderQuest Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 (edited) Hey! VPX works well, but after spending 3 months on setting everything up and building my collection of tables, I hardly play because nudging does not work. I use a Switch Pro controller with analog sticks. I also use AntimicroX to assign keyboard buttons to the controller...but nudging never works. There is a test table to test nudging...and the balls react to my stick there..and when the ball is cradled with the left flipper, it moves when I nudge...but that's it...when the ball is about to enter the outlanes, flicking the stick does not do anything although I get a tilt warning. I watched videos, I tried a lot...but it still does not work. The right stick -> plunger works perfectly. Do you have to set up nudging PER table? Do you need ini files? What settings should I use here? Please help! Edited November 30, 2024 by LeanderQuest
deadmanworking Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Leander, look like your X and Y Axes are disabled, try assigning like this (for left stick nudge):

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I use AntimicroX...and the keyboard buttons to nudge the table are assigned to the left stick and also the dpad. When I have the ball cradled and nudge the table, the ball moves...sometimes it moves up the flipper, but does not drain...but roll back...and on other tables it jumps to the other flipper...as in Pinball FX etc. So the stick and dpad work, but only when the ball is cradled. When the ball is bouncing around near the outlanes and I want to push the table, nothing works....as if no physics were active. Basically, I cannot save the ball...as soon as it is about to drain, I am lost. Here's a video. The ball moves when I push the table with the stick or dpad...but when the ball is in play and rolling around, e.g. coming down from the top, it does not react to the stick or dpad at all....same for the outlanes...seems like a "if ball speed = 0, then nudge the table, but if ball speed > 0, then do nothing" problem. In Pinball FX, Pinball M or Pinball Arcade, you push the table to the left or right, and there is an impact on the ball. I tried it on different tables...what they have in common is that using the stick or dpad only has an impact when the ball is cradled or before launching a ball...so the speed is 0. When it is cradled, it moves up to the flipper's tip on some tables or drains or bounces to the other flipper...or barely moves at all... Is there a secret per table setting? I spent so many hours setting everything up including pup packs, but playing VPX is not fun if I cannot nudge the table during gameplay. Edited December 2, 2024 by LeanderQuest
