Desktop Mode - DMD Behind playfield VPX 10.8

Hey Guys, I am just wondering if anyone could help me.

 

I have been playing VPX for a while and updated to 10.8 recently, but in the last little while no matter the table I load the DMD hides behind the window where the table is.  I tried alt-tabbing over to the DMD and moving it and that doesn't work anymore to resolve the issue.

 

So I am wondering if there is a suggestion or fix that could resolve this issue?  At present it is unplayable without being able to see the DMD.

 

One thought I had would be to manually build a DMD in the desktop view, but I don't know how to do this, so could someone please advise?

Make sure you haven't switched to exclusive fullscreen mode. Must run windowed full screen

Thanks, I just tried this, but when I switch to windowed mode it it is still full screen it appears.  Is there another setting I need to check?

neat the top of your dmddevice.ini should be this;

[virtualdmd]
enabled = true

; virtual dmd stays on top of all other windows
stayontop = true

Strange that those settings didn't seem to change things but I ended up fiddling with the aspect ratio to get it so that it was nearly full screen, but not quite.  I am wondering if it is possible to make the play window draggible or resizable?

I have the exact same issue. The Virtual DMD is not visible at all. I am on Windowed settings in VPX. The only DMD that shows up for me is the PinMame one, and that is not always visible. The one thing that is constant is the Virtual DMD is not visible....I can see in the tab options, but it never shows up and it is not hidden behind the playfield.

I am on a single Desktop landscape. Appreciate any help anyone has. I am about to throw in the towel.

Sounds like it's just off screen. What it your general size and position in your dmddevice.ini?

Here's what mine shows which is big and ugly but will always show up on the screen ready to be moved and sized.

; x-axis of the window position
left = 0

; y-axis of the window position
top = 500

; width of the dmd in monitor pixels
width = 1024

; height of the dmd in monitor pixels
height = 256

Here is what mine says:

left =5600

; y-axis of the window position
top =1208

; width of the dmd in monitor pixels
width =2678

; height of the dmd in monitor pixels
height =730

 

 

My res is 5120x2880....so yah it is off screen...adjusting that and will let you know.
