Key file has strange extension after flashing firmware using the PIN2DMD tool

Hi there,

 

I have installed all the necessary software to flash my EVO boards on a new laptop. Using the PIN2DMD tool to install the firmware is not a problem but when I use it to grab the license key number using the Activate option, the extension is a lot of random characters instead of .key.

 

Here's an example of what I'm getting - E3B001B000D5132ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ¤fk”þ.k°ñ¡

 

If I then plug the board into my old computer and pick the Activate option using the PIN2DMD tool, I get the proper extension of .key. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Just thought I should follow up on this. I'm not sure what fixed it, possibly multiple restarts and some Windows updates, but all seems okay now.
