fromaris Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 The reason im asking is, i have trouble setting up my other monitor as DISPLAY1 in screenResIdentifier in w11. i tried to find a solution online but so far without any luck. i have 2 monitors, one sitting left one right. screenResIdentifier says PLAYFIELD has to be DISPLAY1. So in w11 i tried to switch and set monitor 2 (which is my Right monitor as Default, but that didnt work as: screenResIdentifier will still recognize Display1 left and Display2 Right. Even after a Restart and W11 will still label left=1 and Right=2, even if Right, (2) is set Primary. What i then did is switch the Inputs on the fly pluggin in and out the cables. now w11 will say left is 2 and Right is 1, cool! but screenResIdentifier wont be fooled into it! i tried multiple times, sometimes while running a table and actually once it did work, but the very next time it didnt. and it would be a terrible solution anyways. and if i Restart w11 after switching input slots the input doesnt even matter it will Always say L=1 R=2. (how is this even possible? ok w11 probably thinks ist useful having the former identified monitor set primary no matter which input jack) is there no way to have a playfield on the secondary monitor? it would be so much easier for this issue. Also, it was already annoying when i had everything set up fine on w7, because i always had to Startup with 2 Monitors and Login Windows with the other (Right) monitor, which i hardly use aside for Vpin and would be wasting energy otherwise. Not to mention complicating things for the wife, having to start with two monitos. Additionally i am not going to permanently switch Monitors, if by any means i would be able to permanently set it up in w11. because the one i want to use as playfield works way better as playfield due to less angle issues, and is a suited better to place lying flat on the desk, while the backglass monitor is better for true colors in photoshop and printing. Sorry for the long read, hopefully someone of you has the right idea. thx
