Motörhead were an English rock band formed in London in 1975 by bassist and lead vocalist Lemmy Kilmister, guitarist Larry Wallis and drummer Lucas Fox. Lemmy was also the primary songwriter and only constant member. The band are often considered pioneers of the new wave of British heavy metal, which reinvigorated heavy metal in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Although several guitarists and drummers have played in Motörhead, most of their best-selling albums and singles feature drummer Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor and guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke. From 1995 until the band's breakup in 2015, the band consisted of Lemmy, guitarist Phil Campbell, and drummer Mikkey Dee. Motörhead have released 23 studio albums, 10 live recordings, 12 compilations and five EPs over their 40-year career. Typically a power trio, they achieved particular success in the early 1980s with several UK Top 40 hit singles. The albums Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades and, most notably, the live album No Sleep 'til Hammersmith cemented Motörhead's reputation as a premier rock band. The band is ranked number 26 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. As of 2023, the group has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. Their lyrics typically addressed topics such as war, good and evil, abuse of power, promiscuity, drug addiction, and most famously, gambling, the latter theme being central to their hit song "Ace of Spades." Lemmy died on December 28, 2015, of cardiac arrhythmia and congestive heart failure, after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. The day after his death, longtime members Dee and Campbell both confirmed that Motörhead had disbanded. In 2018, all three members of Motörhead's most famous band (Lemmy, Taylor and Clarke) died. Lemmy said: "We are Motörhead and we play Rock 'N' Roll" Motörhead revolutionized Rock by bringing it a new aggression, and all the state of mind that goes with it. Lemmy Kilmister - and his famous wart - is today an emblematic figure of Rock, true progenitor of a whole generation of musicians... 😎 Link to the original forum: https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=13702 Submitter LAROUILLAS Submitted 11/04/24 Category PuP Packs
