Visual Pinball X 10.8.0 Release Candidate 5?

Been on RC4 seems like forever, with really no issues.

Has anyone been using RC5 (https://github.com/vpinball/vpinball/releases/tag/v10.8.0-2015-6f63503)?

 

Just looking for user feedback before I make changes.

Following!  I'm having trouble saving some POVs on about 35 % of tables.  Maybe they are older versions of these tables?  Keeps defaulting back to legacy.  Hmmmm,.

Oh no!, I remember issues like this when 10.8 first came out..

It seems some tables want to stay in legacy mode.  Although, if I try the stretched window mode and make the table look normal and save, sometimes it will save in window mode.   I think these are mostly older tables.  But even some VPW tables won't save for me in window mode.  So odd. Maybe it's me.  Idk.,

Is it not saving to the ini file for each table, or is it not saving when you save the table itself after changing the pov? I'd heard of someone having the latter problem with one of the earlier RCs, and I can understand fully some people not wanting yet another layer of required files in the table folder.

Did you switch to Window mode in the editor before you hit the plunger button? ....on the right in the table editor...

And you have to hit the start button while the table is running in F6 mode with the POV settings visible. This will write everything into the .ini

I thought by changing to "window" view in the POV editor, this would set the POV in window mode when saving the POV settings in the editor.  Silly me.

Hit the Backbox button on the left, the one with a pin cab image. Then you should find it on the right under camera. Not at the cab at the moment.

Sounds like you are not launching the table then hitting F12 ( to adjust camera)  and changing it to "Window", make your adjustments then hit the "Start" button to save.

I gave up already as the table lunch time takes too long, and then crashes most of the time. I'm back on RC4 and couldent be happier.

Hmmm.  I open the table.  Launch the editor an select "window" form there, make adjustments, then save inside the editor to create the ini file.  The file is created.  Is that not correct?  Works most times.  I'm on a cabinet so using the buttons for adjustments/selections/saving.

Im also on a cab using buttons. You are correct.  You should also get a conformation to it being saved as well.

You have to switch to Window in the editors Backglass section and save the table. Otherwise it will return to whatever is set there. Mostly Legacy for older releases.
