Mopple Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 I really hope I'm in the correct part of the forum but I couldn't find the word "altsound" anywhere so I'm trying my luck here! 🙂 I'm in the final stages of creating an altsound package for "Funhouse": Classic Fairground Organ Style, also with a number of new callouts and lines for Rudy (some movie quotes and the like). My question is: Although I'm already pushing the Rudy wav. files to max volume in my audio editor and leveling the music files down, Rudy's lines are still way too quiet in comparison to the music (and also the other sound effects). I've read about this new "G-sound" thing, which apparently makes it easier to balance everything but I have no idea how that works. All I want is Rudy's lines to be really in the foreground with the music noticeably there but of course a little quieter than Rudy's callouts. Should I just turn the music volume even more down so it doesn't compete with Rudy's lines too much or is there another, "expert" way? I see myself more on the creative side so any technical input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Spacegoogie Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 (edited) Hello, Can't you just find the sound(s) files you need in the ALT folder to adjust and use in a free audio adjustment program to customize the sound(s) levels to your liking? Using F2 also opens (Sound Manager) in VPX editor. I use this often to help change some sounds to the backbox or the front of the table also increasing the flipper sound fx. Best of luck.🍻 Edited September 8, 2024 by Spacegoogie
Mopple Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 Will try that, thanks! I just thought that there could be a "pro" way to do this ("G-Sound") but of course you can just adjust every file. As soon as I'm fninished I'll upload my "Funhouse" altsound package. "Boy, oh boy... I'm so sleepy...!" (Rudy)
