Need a bit of help.  I purchased a virtual pinball cabinet from another hobbyist and found that the software (Windows 7 and VP 9.x) and hardware was a bit outdated for what I wanted.  I have since upgraded some hardware and recently finished creating a new drive with Windows 10, PinPopper and VPX 10.7 on it to start out. That part is working good. I'm trying to next figure out how to get DOF setup for output devices and LEDs inside the cabinet.  The problem I have is that I have no idea about those aspects of the cabinet, I just know they are there and they worked on the old setup with VP 9.x and whatever files were already configured. I was able to get PACLed64 loaded and used some old config files, like directoutputconfig20.ini from the older boot drive to get LEDs and Solenoids in the cabinet "somewhat" working while playing tables.

I can also still boot from the old drive and load a config in the directoutput setup test tool and get the system to fire solenoids, leds. etc.  I can still run tables on the old config and DOF works fine. It just isn't configured for most new tables including none of the VPX tables, only VP 9.x. But maybe I could find what I need while running in this enviroment?

Is there a way I can pull the configuration information off the current or older system, like the PACLed, so that I can put that into the DOF Config Tool and get updated files to put in my configuration?  I just don't know how everything is configured, how to reverse engineer the port assignments, etc.

Help.

Thanks, D

I know this is a very old post but you mention it is working with older vp9 tables but not working with vpx, do you have a dofconfig account setup and have you generated updated dofconfig files for the hardware in the machine, you will need to know what hardware is in your machine in order to setup dofconfig and the ports each toy is assigned to. The current dofconfig file are v5396, you can check the current version at the start of the file in directoutput30.ini etc.
