IGM4 Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Hello, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to virtual pinball machines, so far I've only worked with classic pinball machines. Now I have started building a virtual pinball. My question, to which I can't find a proper answer, is what is the assembly plan for the V4 Shield, photo below of my platine front and back, if I only use the DMDs in the virtual pinball machine? As far as I have read, the shield when connected to the PC is only used to provide power and to connect the display. Maybe someone can tell me exactly what I need. If possible I would like to keep the amount of soldering work as low as possible. Thank you very much for answers now. Sorry for my English, have to use Google Translate.
Rappelbox Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 The most soldering work are the two pin rows. There’s no way around. you need to solder at least: Hub75_ext pin connector or hub75 connector screw terminal Led led resistor buttons button resistors 2x 36x2 female pin header 2x 36x2 male pinheader on the nucleo board optional: microsd module my personal recommendation: do ALL the soldering, it’s done in a few minutes since the most work are the pin headers anyways.
IGM4 Posted August 19, 2024 Author Posted August 19, 2024 Great, thank you very much for the quick answer! This is exactly what I was looking for. Soldering is not the problem. I didn't want to stock everything, just what I really needed. Then I'll order the parts and report here whether everything worked. Thanks!
