monkeyboy27 Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 I downloaded the VPW Twiligt Zone table and its oreiented for desktop mode for some reason. can someone help me get it in to cabinet mode so i can play it on my legends pinball machine? i am running VP 10.8 beta using Pin-up popper.
monkeyboy27 Posted August 19, 2024 Author Posted August 19, 2024 Thanks its a nice video but like so many other videos, the narrator doesnt explain what buttons to press to set something. I can open the table in the dditor but i really just need to kjnow the steps to reorient the table. I havent found any guide that walks you through the basics of the current editor without assuming you already know how to use the editor.
digitalarts Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 F12 - Window (nether legacy nor screen) - press Start key (Enter) twice - press Play key (1) once to save. This will be saved in [tablename].ini
monkeyboy27 Posted August 19, 2024 Author Posted August 19, 2024 i had to edit with an older version of visual pinball. the 10.8 editor didnt show the camera tab. Thanks for the assistance.
digitalarts Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Maybe try the 10.8 DX version, not the GL. And not the debug version but the release version. And x86 or x64, depends on the rest of your installations
monkeyboy27 Posted August 20, 2024 Author Posted August 20, 2024 okay i'll give thata try. otherwise i'll just delete it and wait until i can find one that is in the correct orientation. i have another version of the table thats not too bad.
monkeyboy27 Posted August 20, 2024 Author Posted August 20, 2024 im using this version, not the GL version. https://github.com/vpinball/vpinball/releases/tag/v10.8.0-1975-051104c I have tried x86 and 64 bit. it seems other tables look fine in the interface but this one doesnt bring up camera mode.
digitalarts Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Press F12 to open settings window Use flipper buttons (lshift, rshift) to go to page "point of view" Use magna buttons (lctrl, rctrl) to go to line "view layout mode" Use flipper buttons to select "window" Press Lauch button (Enter) once or twice to toggle stretch/no stretch Use flipper buttons to go to lines "window top z" and "window bottom" Use magna buttons to set the view as you want Use start button (1) to save the changes into [tablename].ini (For resetting to old values press coin button) Press F12 to close settings window
Darlimj Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 For me over here on 10.8 RC4 after changing to window mode and making adjustments and hitting save, the ini file says it's created/updated but after I quit VPX and open the table again often it reverts to legacy mode? This is happening on about 40% of the tables. Any help greatly appreciated. On another thread I was told to set to window mode here but can't seem to find this setting?
RabidUrko Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Have you made sure the text appears on the screen to say its saved, ive done it once or twice where i think ive pressed the button and saved and havent.
Content Provider Schlabber34 Posted November 13, 2024 Content Provider Posted November 13, 2024 Hit that button first with the table loaded. Then the properties should appear on the right. Select the camera tab. Choose Window and save the table. Start table with F6. Use flipper buttons to switch to the POV settings. Hit the plunger button. Make your adjustments. Hit start to save to .ini
Content Provider Schlabber34 Posted November 13, 2024 Content Provider Posted November 13, 2024 If the properties window stays empty, you have to unlock the table first. If i remember correctly it's under the 'Table' tab.

MissleToad Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 (edited) Months later, I've found this thread and I want to thank the Admins, Schlabber34, digitalarts and everyone else in this thread that provided insight! I was today years old when I finally figured out how to use the F12 Menu in Visual Pinball. This has been a game changer especially for desktop mode tables on my arcade cab. I've gotten into PinupPacks, table script modifications, F1, F2 menus, service menu adjustments. But somehow, I never knew about the F12 menu camera adjustments. Thank you! Totally brought playability and new life to a bunch of my tables. 🙌🙌 Edited October 21, 2025 by MissleToad
statixsc Posted October 26, 2025 Posted October 26, 2025 i hear ya brother, for months i was dealing with a half working setup, then every week a little nugget comes along and its all good. At the minute everyhing works for me but thre are a few tables that lag like absolute crazy anmd i cant get them to be even remotely playable, i ve a decent dedicated pc running vpx on a ALP with gold leaf switches, if anyone can tell me why games like gilligans isalnd and taxi have considerable frame rate loss compared to every other table this would be good, serious, the games are fine, these two are not!
