Aha... and what table you Talk about ?  Would be very helpful...

I guess it's an original, not a rom-based.

Because rom-based tables stores Highscores in .nvram File.

Non-rom-based tables (a.k.a. Originals) stores their Highscores mostly in .txt files in /users folder.

If this .txt File is damaged, These Kind of Error often IS the result.

Look at the /users folder, Look for a .txt File which belongs to your table and Check or deleted it

Sorry- I thought I was in a support group for an individual table. It is the new MF DOOM table- just installed, never run.

I'll check for the .txt file you suggest.
