Now that VPX 10.8 has made use of the F12 function key to open up the POV settings for tables, what key is used for making Vpinmame ROM volume adjustments on those tables that require the volume lowered?  Be very interested to know if this has been looked into?

Vpinmame ROM volume adjustments for the pre-DMD tables - Not volume adjustment on DMD machines.....

Under VPX 10.7 and earlier, if you open a table and press F12 it brings up an (-) Vpinmame volume adjustment window.  For all the 70's and 80's SS non-DMD tables e.g. Kiss, Medusa, Space Invaders, Playboy, etc.

If you 'F12' in VPX 10.8, it now opens the POV settings, brightness, objects tabs etc.

For me since installing 10.8 RC4 (comming from 10.7 final) the rom volume is too low. Like 50% of what was before. The channel mix is also different. The volume of the voice in Blackout is even lower, like 30%. This is on a mono Bose mini. Tilde key does also nothing anymore. To make things worse the volume value in the Blackout registry set is something like 4752477534. It should be between 0 and 1? Or -30 and 0?

Some guys at VPW are using a homemade hack for the new F12 menu. Bringing back the old F12 and tilde volume menus would be nice!

"Tilde" a.k.a. ~ a.k.a. ^ is ALWAYS working, without vpx!

Just use the Vpinmame setup(64).exe, choose the Rom, in settings activate to see the normal dmd display,

activate the 'stereo' setting if 7.1 is available, start the Rom

Press ^ , change the internal Rom Sound volume values, close this with reclick ~, stop the Rom.  Maybe redo the DMD display settings. Close setup.exe

This volume value changes will be saved in /cfg folder, as [Romname].cfg,

NOT in registry NOR in .nv  !

OK, i tried the Vpinmame thing and it's not working for me. Setting volume in the registry to 0 at least seemed to trigger a reset of the overall volume. Now it's only the voice that is a bit quiet (but OK).

The problem is that i'm still not able to balance everything out.

I might be doing something wrong. I can only get the external dmd ext to show in the test. But i need the internal dmd window right? Something in my setup must be wrong. Or do i have to overwrite freezy's dll?

I wrote this in VPW group:

Something is wrong with my DMD setup. In F1 i have the "show DMD window" checked. In script there is "hidden=0". I can show dmdext by checking external DMD in the F1 menu. But the internal DMD won't show. The reason i'm asking, if i remember this correctly you needed the internal DMD to make the tilde key work. But i can't get it to show up. Not in F1 and not in setup64.exe. Is this the new standard with freezy 2.2.2? Do i have to remove it to show the old internal DMD?

I tried this on Blackout with alpha numerics!

I checked Blackout on my DT PC with VPX8 64 and what can i say, the internal DMD is there, i click on the DMD, then the tilde key and voila, there it is. No freezy on my DT PC!

Standard DMD display in/of Vpinmame has nothing to do with freezy a.k.a. DMDext

With setup(64).exe, toggle internal DMD on, goggle external DMD off, start Rom...

Maybe the DMD is out of sight, at 2nd screen , behind other windows or wherever... Search it and drag it to every place...

Oh, just to mention: some ROMs show only a black screen, even ^ shows nothing - but this is only a behavior with the 64bit setup.exe. Simply use in this case the 32bit setup.exe
