Fabio_Spartacus Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Hi everyone, I received a first version Pin2dmd color display, I connected it to 5v, but when I turn on the pinball machine the screen remains black. On the back, the power LED is on, while the LD4 LED flashes red (see attached video). the DMD was on a medieval madness and now I'm putting it on a Creature. I also tried deleting the psd and pal files but nothing changes. what can I do? Thank you VID_20240722_115728_0_COMPRESSED.mp4
Content Provider lucky1 Posted July 23, 2024 Content Provider Posted July 23, 2024 Are you sure there is a firmware installed ? https://pin2dmd.com/installation/#1.1

After your message I tried to install the fw, but I received the error "ST Link device not found"; then I read another topic where you indicated to power the DMD because the USB connection is not enough to power it. I didn't turn it on, i'll try again tonight and update you. In the micro SD there was already the activation file and a .PAL and a .DAT file, should I leave them in?

Then I turned on the pinball machine but it doesn't detect the DMD... what can I do? Is there a way to reset it to factory settings?
Content Provider lucky1 Posted July 26, 2024 Content Provider Posted July 26, 2024 This is the ST-Link USB to be used for programming. It should be auto detected by Windows as a USB drive and a ST-Link interface. You should also be able to install the binary by just copying it to this USB drive Here is the correct file location on my github https://github.com/lucky01/PIN2DMD/blob/master/firmware/latest/V4 NUCLEO-144/PIN2DMD.bin
Content Provider lucky1 Posted July 26, 2024 Content Provider Posted July 26, 2024 If this does not work ask the seller of the display for support.

IMG_0128.mov I guess your SD card or reader module is generating a short circuit. Maybe you used the wrong SD slot module or have bad solder joints?
WanderLeonel Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 (edited) I think I mount it wrong. I switched sides on the V4 board and now I put the card in and I no longer have the problem. But I'm waiting for the activation key. Thanx @sortudo1 Edited July 31, 2024 by WanderLeonel
