MetaTed Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Hello talented VPX creators, I've been following along with Apophis @VPinWorkshop excellent VLM Table Upgrade tutorial, but I'm getting an error when baking out to VPX. The baked geometry is created in the Blender Collection "VLM.Result" but no VPX table is created. Snapshot of the Blender System Console is below. There appears to be an error in either "__init__.py" or "vlm_export.py" Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am hoping to create some wonderful tables using Blender! Thanks, Ted
MachWon Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 I have the exact same problem, did you ever figure this out? Thanks
MetaTed Posted August 5, 2024 Author Posted August 5, 2024 Hi @MachWon - copying my solution below from the Virtual Pinball Chat #vpx-coding Discord channel. I have found Discord is the best forum for table developers, no one really replies here on VPU. Finally got it working with latest Blender 4.1 and VLM you linked above! Simple fix for those who might have similar issue ... install VLM add-on and dependencies in Blender while in admin mode as stated in the VLM documentation. Make sure you have Blender's windows console open and copy the green text after "To update, run" into Win+R command line, see my image attached. This updates pip if needed. Looking forward to making some cool tables with VLM!
MachWon Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Thanks for help here, using 4.1 and updating pip and using the latest VLM, it doesn't import anything but one object and two light from any table so there's nothing export. What version of VLM did you use? Thanks again for your response here.
MachWon Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 (edited) I finally did get this to work but I had to use Blender 4.2 and then make a new updated VLM file using the latest master build and now I can import/export. I will put copy of the vpx_lightmapper.zip. I will attach a copy vpx_lightmapper.zip Edited August 5, 2024 by MachWon
MetaTed Posted August 5, 2024 Author Posted August 5, 2024 Awesome, can't wait to see what you do with it!
