skimonkey88 Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Several of my PAL/VNI colorizations that used to work no longer do. Not all though. WCS94 doesn't work, nor does STTNG. Here's my dmddevice.log from trying to run STTNG: [1] 2024/06/02 21:16:09.784 INFO | Starting DmdDevice API 2.2.1 (x86) through PUPDMDControl.exe. As you can see the romname is missing from the Gamesettings line and "Setting game name:" is blank. TOTAN is working fine, Whitewater is not. thanks!
skimonkey88 Posted August 8, 2024 Author Posted August 8, 2024 Did you get this figured out? I'm having the same issue. pac and crz files work fine, pal/vni gives this exception

skimonkey88 Posted August 13, 2024 Author Posted August 13, 2024 Thank you for your reply Lucky1. I'm pulling my hair out with PAL/VNI colorizations. I had a bit of a breakthrough last night with Whitewater. I found that the same PAL/VNI combination would work fine with the Whitewater L-5 ROM, but does not work with LH-6 or LH-6c. I had a similar finding with the Addams Family where the most recent rom wouldn't work with colorization, but an older version would. If I try to run Whitewater with LH6c, I'm getting an exception like this in DMDDevice.log: 17] 2023/10/27 13:42:59.563 WARN | Error initializing colorizer: Unable to read beyond the end of the stream. System.IO.EndOfStreamException: Unable to read beyond the end of the stream. at System.IO.__Error.EndOfFile() at System.IO.BinaryReader.ReadByte() at LibDmd.Converter.Vni.Palette..ctor(BinaryReader reader) at LibDmd.Converter.Vni.PalFile.Load(BinaryReader reader, String filename) at LibDmd.Converter.Vni.PalFile..ctor(String filename) at LibDmd.Converter.Vni.VniLoader.Load(String vniKey) at LibDmd.Converter.Vni.ColorizationLoader.LoadVniColorizer(String gameName, ScalerMode scalerMode, String vniKey) Things I've tried: Different versions of dmddevice64.dll, making sure my .Net framework and C++ redistributables are up to date, downloading a new version of the ROM and the colorization. Any advice would be appreciated. All of the PAC and CRZ colorizations work great across the board. PAL/VNI about 30% are working on my system with the other 70% giving the "Unable to read beyond the end of stream" exception. I'm running a Pin2DMD Thank you.
lonchaney Posted October 27, 2025 Posted October 27, 2025 I have the same problem. Pac and cz work perfectly but PAL/VNI not. Did you find a solution?
