This would be great to recreate in vpx... even with a standard dmd and no video pack

Barrels of Fun announced a Labyrinth pinball machine in 2023. It is limited to 1,100 units and will retail for $10,600, excluding additional accessories and shipping. Labyrinth is Barrels of Fun's debut pinball game.

The first orders are planned to ship in summer/fall 2024.

This Pinball Community is not in the habit of recreating tables that current manufacturers are selling, and certainly do not try and compete with them.

This table has not even been released to the public yet.

Sure it would be nice to have this table in VPX, but is one table worth taking down this whole Pinball Community?

There are plenty of other great VPX tables to choose from.

Sure, it's been a pleasure to see such great artwork and effort in all the tables here and having 120 in a pincab is more than enough, especially after figuring out all the configurations and also the new video system.

Peace,

@xenonph on average what is your estimation of the length of time a new pinball table stays in production?  3 years, 5, years, 10 years, 20 years?

How long after a table goes out of production do we see it become virtual?

Hard to say, as this community is more about the preservation of tables, not keeping up with current manufacturers.

If you currently manufactured pinball tables, how long would you wait to allow for a free virtual version to be made by someone else and offered to public?

I can't say off the top of the dome.  I'd have to do some analytics to see whether or not that effects my bottom line in any way.  If I'm no longer producing the table, but I'm hoping for some revenue down the road (Jersey Jack), then never.  Makes me wonder why a company like Stern is relatively cool with it.  I'm confident in the end it's all about money.

I would love to see The Hobbit table in VPX, but even though it was manufactured 8 years ago, we still need to respect the wishes of the manufacturer.

Then we have other instances where the manufacturer not only allows for a virtual version, but helps with providing assets for a VPX build, like the Total Nuclear Annihilation table.

I'm quite new in this pinball world, but I would not mind if I had to pay for a VPX version of a (new) table.
Maybe manufactures are a bit more willing of they don't have to give a way the table for free, but can ask some money for it. Then it's also a bit in there advantage.

Its a great table and a great theme.  Find a physical  table to enjoy somewhere for now.  It will be worth the wait when it does eventually get a virtual treatment.
