I have noticed that the vari targets say "Thousands and scores bonus"

However it deducts the bonus depending on where the vari target reaches.

 

I have consulted a manual and this is how it is supposed to be ,  so i wondered , did Gottlieb word the playfield wrong ?Any thoughts ?

I would take the words "scores bonus" to imply increases bonus.
