Channels in ROMs

Experimenting with altering the different sound channels in some table ROMs for my cabinet.

I have found threads that mention the different named channels etc, but not what they do as such,

would make altering much easier if i knew overall, than just trial and error.

 

DAC for instance what is that for when using VPX or is that just a setting for a "real" machine to utilise?
