Cygnusxr1 Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 (edited) I have a strange issue when I record the playfield in Pinup Popper that only affects some tables but not all. Pinballs, sometime one, sometimes many, appear on top of the playfield once I click on "O" for operators menu. Subsequently they remain when recording the playfield, and only disappear when the operator's menu is closed. I assume the hidden pinballs inside the apron to play the game are what is appearing. Any idea how to fix this? Edited February 29, 2024 by Cygnusxr1 For clarity
southbound Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 Is there a solution for this? I am seeing the same issue: all of the under-playfield balls are being displayed when I open the Operator Menu (press 'O') to record the displays. Everything displays properly during normal gameplay. Thanks.
irongumball Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 I'm running into the same problem and didn't see a solution offered in my searches. Found a workaround accidentally. It only happens when I record interactively with the operator menu. Looks like it somehow toggle the layer order or masking. However, if I bring up the operator menu and act on something, it toggles back. Here's a operating sequence that gets a good recording. 1. Open operator menu and keep an eye on the balls. 2. If the balls look normal, record as normal. 3. If it toggles the balls funny (float on top, turn invisible or translucent, etc.), a. Do a no-op action on the menu. ex. Display info. b. Open operator menu again, this time the ball should toggle back to normal. Record as normal. It usually need to toggle every table on my setup now. So step 1,3 most of the time, but some tables are on the step 1,2. My machine also crashes every 5ish tables. But that's another problem for another day.
LeStef31 Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 This problem comes from the "O" key usage in VPX. By default, the O key is the Debug key in VPX (have a look in the keyboard configuration menu). When you press "O", the ball are shown for debug. You just need to change thta key to anything not used by Pinup to avoid the issue.
