Content Provider lucky1 Posted December 14, 2015 Content Provider Share Posted December 14, 2015 You can find color settings to be used in Virtual PinMAME here http://vpuniverse.com/index.php/dmd_color_codes.html Instead of entering all the values by hand you can use setdmd. Here is a link to setdmd software which allows to easily export and import VPM colorize settings http://pinballbulbs.com/files/setdmd.html I also attached a collection of exported color settings I found on dropbox. It is a good point to start as a default palette before you start to colorize animation sequences using the pin2dmd editor from Steve. zanyt13
Do you have good settings for that standard orange dmd color. I been playing around with it some, but the darker colors either goes over to red or green.

Content Provider lucky1 Posted January 23, 2016 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 23, 2016 You can create a palette.dat file with the colors you wish as default and put it on the sd-card to make it the default palette information loaded. jadflat
perfect, cheers edit: turns out my smallest micro sd card (4GB) doesn't work, I've ordered a 1GB card from Ebay. In the mean time I've created Amber .dmc files for all of my games using the settings above with a ahk script. I've got 305 Amber .dmc files if anyone wants them, they are here
OzStick
There are so many elements to all this and I keep getting lost. How are these .DMC files referenced? I've no idea how to get them to work!
jadflat
they can be loaded with the new setdmd, just set the file association for .dmc files to setdmd and you can open up to 15 files at a time. highlight 15 .dmc files in windows explorer, press enter and it'll open 15 sessions of setdmd, rinse and repeat for all of the files, you can do the whole folder and then close the 300 or so sessions of setdmd without any ill affects. but you'll probably need to edit your registry first, to enable colourizsing of the dmd for all tables. export your registry, change all instances of "dmd_colorize"=dword:00000000 to "dmd_colorize"=dword:00000001 save, and import the registry
Content Provider bent98 Posted February 13, 2016 Content Provider Share Posted February 13, 2016 You can create a palette.dat file with the colors you wish as default and put it on the sd-card to make it the default palette information loaded. How do I make these values below into A pallet.dat and what do I name it so when I put it on the SD card it loads by default for all tables? 100% 66% 33% hue 10 10 10 sat 238 238 238 lum 120 80 40 I also have another question. Why use dmc files when you can just set them in the vpinmame registry if you using one shade of color per rom?
Rappelbox
You can use the pin2dmd editor from go-dmd.de Actual version should be 1.0.11 The name has to be palettes.dat even if it's only one Dmc files are "needed" to colorize a large set of roms. These have the more then 1 color, but only if you enable "colorize rom" in vpinmame settings Greets, Dom

Content Provider gtxjoe Posted February 14, 2016 Content Provider Share Posted February 14, 2016 Convert those values to rgb values. If you put those into the pinmame color window you can get the the rgb values Once you have those look at this post. http://vpuniverse.com/forums/topic/2291-uploading-palette-text-files-to-pin2dmd/#entry26880 it should get you started. Administrators Dazz Posted February 22, 2016 Administrators Share Posted February 22, 2016 I'm finally getting around to getting this installed in my cabinet. Has anyone gotten this running with HyperPin? The DMD doesn't seem to be releasing the DMD after exiting from a game. The previous game remains on the DMD.
