Sata Cable For Nanotech Plunger Pcb

hello,

I've damaged my pcb for the nanotech wizard controller, so the plunger uses a sata cable that connects to the pcb.

I want to get a diiferent pcb control board for the plunger but I don't think any others use a sata cable?

can I do anything to the plunger to use it in a different way than using a sata cable? can this be converted to usb and used with a different plunger pcb?

M

I'm unhappy wiht my nanotech controller (non ending calibration problems with nudge), so I want to replace it with an Arduino, handling buttons+nudge.

As I don't want to loss the plunger, of course idea is to connect it again.

I think it is possible, but did not tried it, was to busy with RGB ledstrips...

Idea is to use SATA cable, cut it in half and check voltage. It should have 7 pins, I assume two of them is the plunger. After identifiying the pins it should be not too difficult to read the value on an analog Arduino pin.

But, so far just theory. ledstrips was more important. Over christmas vacation I want to do that, so if you have time, I'll report here about the progress.
