Saving settings in live editor

I am looking to lower the  environment light in a vpx table in live edit. I can change it but I cannot  find a way to save the settings. I've heard you can press 1 or control S or other items f12 works in the f12 environment but not in live editor. It seems it should be easy but nothing is working. Is there a way I can do this in a different spot I just want to lower the ambiant light and have the table lights be most of the lighting on this table but I havn't been abble to save the settings. Even if I make the changes, quit to editor and save the settings then go back in they havn't been saved. I think I was able to do it on a different table by quit to editor and saving it before I closed the table  but nothing is working.
