Deny Everything.  Trust No One.

The X Files was released by Sega in 1997 with a production run of only 1500 units.

I noticed that the X Files for VPX was in need of the newer VPW enhancements as this version is based off Sliderpoint's 2016 version (then based off JPSalas version 2011!).  There have been many improvements to VPX (from the VPW team) since 2106 to make it play better plus there were a few bugs and gameplay issues to balance.

Additions / Updates:

* nFozzy Physics

* Fleep Sounds

* Flupper Domes

* Dynamic Ball Shadows
* LUT Selector (hold left magna then press right magna)
* Playfield image enhanced for better clarity
* Desktop background updated to a clean, minimal look.

* 2 Hybrid VR Rooms (Deluxe and Minimal) (Thanks Sixtoe, Basti and Rawd for the templates as always)
* Ball Size change to accommodate previous mod's slightly larger table size. (thanks Apophis)

* Many small tweaks and code clean-ups.

The physical X Files pinball machine is known for playing as a difficult shooter with tight shots and some brick shots that can catch you off guard.  This digital version replicates those tight shots in the inner orbits and ramps so expect some real satisfaction when you are able to hit those shots!

Commendations:
Thanks to the original Sega team listed in the IPDB link.

Thanks to the original authors, JPSalas and Sliderpoint for a very solid recreation of this table.

Thanks to the VPW team, Studlygoorite (for the original vpx file) and the following testers: PinStratsDan, Apophis, PrimeTime5K, Sixtoe, Lumi, Smaug

Enjoy!

Thank you for updating this great Sega table with improvements, we will see how the Pinball of the most famous FBI agents behaves. Greetings from Argentina.

The improvements to the physics have made this and the other recent two Tastywasps releases (sopranos and BBH) change from pins I didn't care for, into really enjoyable must play tables. A million thanks yet again.

Big fan of the tv series (recently watch it all on Disney+) - this is back to the roots and love the basic visual enhancements!  Good job, looks amazing in couch mode single tv 86" goodness! Love B2S work as well from the community. On latest bleeding edge vpinball 10.8 etc...

Really like the flow to this one. Music is subdued and eerie like the original TV show. Love the center shot file cabinet. I will play this one over and over again.

One bit of recommendation if this could have 4K scan of playfield and assets that would be amazing, but it looks and plays fine as is. Great work, thank you so much to all involved with this table for your time and effort.

awesome update! Love to play it in "blacklight" LUT mode.

TO help exit game cleanly on the b2s and PuP may i suggest adding a Controller.stop to script versions after 1.27, in the Exit subroutine (right after SaveLut) i.e:

994 Sub table1_Exit

995     SaveLUT

996     Controller.stop

997 End Sub

Again, great work on a great game!

I'm never interested for this table till now.

But this version is beautiful and plays wonderful. Physics and artwork are great.

Big thanks to TastyWasps for this VR-version.

The table is not as scary as the show was when I was a kid... well, maybe in how tight the shots are to make 😉 . TastyWasps (and team) did a fantastic job to bring this table to life, including in how tight it plays. He also managed to implement the excellent use of the magnet in front of the cabinet during The Truth multiball. The table is a proper challenge and I look forward to getting to the "Blood" wizard mode one day.
