These are primarily soundtrack substitutions done for Stern pinballs using Pinball Browser. It's another tool in the toolbox that happens to predate altsound and PuP-Player. Done right, a modded file can work automatically with VPinMAME without the need for any other client software. The userbase for the software is entirely among real table owners AFAIK, but VPin users, desktop, cabinet, or VR can also benefit. Zip up the modded file, give it the same name as the original Stern ROM that was modded. Rename the old zip and copy over the new zip to your roms path, check "Ignore CRC Errors" under the rom's game settings in the VPinMAME setup menu. It should play. Pinball Browser is donateware to get the registration key that unlocks full functions. It's pretty cheap and might be worth it. I think that there is a user repository accessible through the app that can get access to a number of projects. S.A.M. projects should be fully functional with VPinMAME. I'm not sure on this though. I have not installed it in many years. Pinball Browser was also used to colorize DMDs for a number of S.A.M. system games, but Terranigma has a complete list of colorized DMD projects. This list will focus on the other code mod projects that are currently available and free for the public to download. A lot of projects are PM only now and the author of Pinball Browser had requested modders to not distribute bin files at some point a while back. I'm still going to look around and see what more is available to publicly download.
