Problems with DE Batman real pin

I have a couple of people with DE Batman pins and both of them are experiencing issues with their displays. There is a set of colour files for the game but I'm not sure if they are problem free. Both of these people have tried running the game with and without the memory card installed and they have issues both ways. One says there are problems after a couple of hours and the other one says there are issues before the end of playing the first ball.

 

Has anyone had any luck with this game with or without colour files? I would assume that the display would at least work without the memory card but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Could you define "issue" a little more detailed ?
