Sync Problems In Family Guy?

during building my FG Table, I played the old version from UW. I noticed that in the beginning of the game, everything runs fine.

But the longer I play, the sound delays more and more. I started a TV Mode on Ball 3 after about 10 Minutes of play and the

DMD Animation came about 5 seconds later. 

 

Is there any known Pinmame Issue??

after how much time you start to feel the delay? i can try myself if i can reproduce

 

problem about the sam emulation, the code was reverse engineered from a very old version, which is not optimal, some tried to improve it but it didn't give any result, pinmame team could help but you know they won't help or fix anything about sam before a very long time

You can feel the delay very soon in the game. Shooting the TV hole AS much AS you can. The sound that plays before the eject, delays more and more. After a while the sound plays after eject instead of before. And it gets more and more

so this means you just add new roms to the build? Or are you able to delete bugs? This would be very frustrating if Family Guy could not be fixed :( At least for me unplayable.

 

I remember the LOTR emulation was kinda bad too about sync. So we used the extracted samples and imported them to the sound manager and run a simple script routine that plays the samples just like the rom did. I don´t know if that

is still possible to exctract the sounds and do it the same way.

i saw now, that I reported it wrong in the first post....Not the animation is delaying. The Sound is delaying. The animations on the DMD works good. But the sound doesn´t fit. I did a game to test with some walls in the outlanes and did an "endless game"...I played about one hour. For example, the TV Mode Animation starts on the DMD and the sound plays about 5 seconds after the anim after 20 minutes of play. This happens on all targets. Same with FART Targets..you hear the fart after 5 seconds after the hit. At the beginning of the game, everything is good. after about 5 minutes of play it´s already about a second delay.

i have the same behaviour than you, sound is slightly delayed.

i can't fix that, snotz either, pinmame team won't work on sam.

don't know about extracting sounds, who extracted the lotr, ripley and elvis sounds?

Ok seems to go above my knowledge. There is a special script by destruk that handles the sounds. The new FG Sounds doesn´t fit to the architecture that LOTR have. Complete different filenames and structure. So I guess I won´t be able to do it. Maybe someone here have the knowledge to that?

Ok, thanks to Dazz for helping me out with the 11.00 and 10.00 Rom. They work without any delay. So I will use the v11.00 Rom on the table until there is some fix on pinmame. But I guess there will be not much differnt in the 12.00 rom. So now I am happy to be able to create the table with not harming the gameplay :) Yiihaa....Or like it says on the FG Table....WOW...THAT WAS....WOW

has this FG table been released yet?  Thanks for your work on this and all who worked on the "underground" table as well!

This isn't the WIP thread for the recreation. This is/was a pinmame emulation/support thread. Check the Works in progress for the answer to your question. ;)
