Mayo Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Hi I am desperately want to build a cabinet and have found someone with a CNC machine that is willing to cut the wood for me but he needs the plans for the wideboy cabinet in a DXF/DWG format. Anyone know where I can get these ?
Brtlkat Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Google search Williams WIDEBODY pinball plans, That may turn up what you are looking for.
Mameman Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Any CNC place can take the dimensions in my plans and make a cut file. Basic shapes.
Content Provider freneticamnesic Posted September 20, 2014 Content Provider Posted September 20, 2014 I talked to a few local cnc shops and presented them with mamemans instructions, they were confused. One said they didn't have the tool to do the angled edges and that it would be better to do a one off by hand (I think that's true at least) and the other quoted way too much, saying they'd need to create a dxf for their machines. At the end of the day, I have decided to cut my own. If I was local to mameman I'd rather get them from him but shipping kills it for me!
Mameman Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Angles can be done on a cnc if you plan ahead, but can always be done by hand if needed. Using a lock mitre is the ultimate edge/join. Worse case ignore the angle and but them together. Just remember to reduce front and back width by 2x the material thickness. Www.xtremepinball.com
Mayo Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 My woodworking skills are rubbish so I have approached a chap that does CNC arcade cabinets but has asked for a cad drawing to use. I have found the wideboy plans online but they are in a pdf file. Thanks
