New York City, mid-1970s: 26-year-old Travis Bickle, who suffers from sleep disorders, takes a job as a taxi driver. During the interview, he tells us that he was in the US Marines. He is ready to work at any time in any place. Due to his sleep disorders, he mainly drives the unpopular night shifts to the darkest corners of the city. At night, Travis transports shady characters. Travis believes that there is too much "human activity" on New York's streets.
