Spektre
So, I haven't kept up with VPX. but when I was in the DX7->DX9 development thread there was discussion about whether or not to still pre-render some things or do competely realtime rendering. What was the final on this? Is VPX fully rendered real time? Might there be a chance at head tracking with this?
DJRobX
Currently VP still uses a lot of static renderings, so realtime head tracking is not possible. It was a design decision they made for VP 10.x to keep VP's GPU requirements under control.
Spektre
Thanks. That's unfortunate. 3D with head tracking would be great.
Thalamus
Good decisions ! Better to have something that plays awesome - than only looks good and plays s... :-)
toxie
But its also not completely impossible. The camera/light mode (start with F6) that is in VPX for example already is rendered fully dynamically without any static rendering upfront. Administrators Dazz Posted January 26, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 26, 2017 I'd love to figure out how to get VP to run in VR with HTC Vive.
