rollerball
I've been trying to workout how to get my pin2dmd working with pinball fx3.... i installed it all as per the instructions from freezy... if I run test all I get is a message saying it's not a recognised internal or external command... if I run the program it only quickly flashes up and seems to do nothing. Flashes up so fast that I used my phone to do a video then took a screen shot with the video paused to see what it said... here are the screen shots... one of the error and the other of when I started the program and it just flashed up... thanks in advance for any advice... outhere
I have my dmdext.exe in my C:\Visual Pinball\VPinMame floder... So when you run the command as far as I know you have to be in that folder What front end are you using?
rollerball
PinballX but ive just been playing it straight through steam.. do I need to put it into a folder with fx3 then for it to work?
outhere
I also use the 32 bit version Plus the 32 bit pinballx https://github.com/freezy/dmd-extensions/releases dmdext-v1.7.1-x86.zip If you also run the Visual pinball then Your best bet is to have these files only in the VPinMame folder
outhere
This is an updated version you do not need to run FX3 with administrator rights dmdext.exe https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=40679&p=414185

Vanlon
I am having the same problem, It's due to the dmdext test not finding my pin2dmd. Every other program works. I have the libusbk driver running it. Any ideas would be great.
freezy
@rollerball It doesn't work because Windows doesn't know where to look for dmdext.exe. As per install instructions, if you want to run dmdext from anywhere you'll need to add the folder where you put dmdext.exe to your PATH environment variable. @Vanlon do you know on which COM port PIN2DMD is attached to? @lucky1 doesn't PIN2DMD include a test tool that lists the port? Content Provider lucky1 Posted November 29, 2018 Content Provider Share Posted November 29, 2018 PIN2DMD does not use a COM port like pindmd3 . It registers itself as a winusb device automatically from Win7 and higher

Use either winusb or libusb-win32. libusb-win32 support is only for compatibility to older programs like OpenGL intercept dll for Future pinball
Vanlon
I was just following the instructions on the pin2dmd site, it's pretty clear you need to swap out the winusb driver for the libusb with the zadig tool. I switched it back and everything works great. Thank you.

Vanlon
Do you have them together in the same group of USB ports? If so move your Logitech and leave the pin2dmd on its own.
outhere
Probably not because I have the DMD in the back of the computer and the mouse in the front but thanks for the idea
