BobAlbright
I posted this at VPF a few days ago. Thought i'd try here to see if any of you VP geniuses have any idea why I can't run this table Nobody have any ideas on this? Since doing what I mentioned below, I have deleted the nvram from Pinmame. I even went into registry and deleted the rom info there. I can play the VP 9 version of the game with no issues. The X version plays a lot better--sure would like to get it working. I keep getting an error at line 104--it doesn't like the dh_lx2 rom. Same error on the 1.7 versionI should add that I do have the correct rom. And downloaded it again(and it tests fine in the Pinmame setup menu) just in case the original got corrupted somehow. Based the posts, it's working for some of you. All my other VPX tables work just fine. The original DH VPX did work. Anyone have any ideas ? BobAlbright
I also meant to say that when I get the error at line 104 I get the message "cannot create active X component
Administrators Wildman Posted January 19, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 19, 2016 I ran 1.6 no problem.....if 1.6 runs for you 1.7 should... when you load 1.7 dont change anything in the script and it should work... if not make sure = "You need the controller.vbs in order to run this table, available in the vp10 package" and rename table and db2s if db2s does not come up... make sure your .VBS files are up to date and in the right folder...like I said the table and backglass ran no problem 1st time here.. Note = I only tried it with my version of the db2s
BobAlbright
I have spent a crazy amount of time trying to get this fixed. I have the latest vbs with controller. vbs included. I tried renaming the table and db2s and same issue. I just don't get it. I've downloaded the table several times as well as the rom And yes, you would think if 1.6 worked, 1.7 would too. I've got about 500 tables that work and probalby 15 or so VpX tables. This is the only one I can't get to work! What is your take on where the vbs files should go? I've heard some same ONLY in the scripts. Others say ONLY in the tables folder. And yet others say both. I currently have them in both. Just for giggles, I took the scripts folder out of the VPinball folder and tried. Same deal
Administrators Dazz Posted January 19, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 19, 2016 Scripts should go into Visual Pinball/scripts/. There is no reason to junk up your table folder with scripts. Tables folder should contain the table and the db2s file and perhaps screenres.txt and a couple other files. Put all scripts into a scripts folder and leave them alone! BobAlbright
I'm at wits end with this. I took all the script files out of the tables directory and then none of my tables would load, so I put them all back where they were and all is working again. I also downloaded a different b2s file and tried that. Same crash. But 1.6 works. Guess i'll have to live with that. I haven't had any issue with any other VPX tables. That's what is driving me crazy. It' s kinda a matter of principle at this point. Thanks for all your help
Administrators Wildman Posted January 20, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 20, 2016 if 1.6 runs then 1.7 should....redownload the table and run it dont change the script....its already setup to run db2s....
BobAlbright
Hey Wildman--I'm on to something! I was poking around today --still trying to get 1.7 to work and I can across Controller.txt---it has do do with contactors, bells, and other DOF stuff. The top choice is to disable B2s so I changed it to a 1 (like the other stuff had) and behold the 1.7 version would work--albeit -no backglass. Of course, that's no good either. But with that in mind, do you have any idea now how I can get it to play WITH a backglass? Thanks again
Administrators Wildman Posted January 20, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 20, 2016 Then you got me...I just tossed into tables folder and ran table and db2s works......try copy/paste the names so they are the same ..even a space in wrong place will not load the db2s....if it dont work then i have no clue...plus i didnt mess with a controller .txt file.. BobAlbright
Some good news. After spending HOURS and HOURS on this--downloading rom, backglass, table , B2s server NUMEROUS times, I finally got it working. Final trick came from the server. Although I dl'd it several times and registed it, it didn't work till now. Why all the other tables worked without issue is beyond me. Thanks to all who gave some input! Now---to put away some of those scumbags!
BobAlbright
Spoke too soon...I went back to play it again and ended up with the same problem. I'm done with this!
Knorr
Spoke too soon...I went back to play it again and ended up with the same problem. I'm done with this!Don't give up. Does Demolition Man work? It also uses the controller.vbs...
BobAlbright
Yes D man works fine...I've got close to 500 tables ( including 20 or so vpx) that work fine,so it's not like I don't have anything to play. . I've spent way too much time already trying to figure this out. I figure I'll just wait til the next version comes out and try again. The little bit I played it with Ver 6 when it was working was lots of fun. Really liked how nice it played. Otherwise, I would not have spent so much time on it. Thanks, knorr
