Content Provider UncleSash Posted January 5, 2016 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 5, 2016 @unclesash - What's this shield thingy you are working on? The "Shields" are the HeaderBoards, I renamed it for a better understanding. Or what was the question?

Blashyrk
Ahhh, you renamed them to shields. I thought maybe you were working on something to fix the dreaded green dots or to shield the pin2dmd from interference.

I thought maybe you were working on something to fix the dreaded green dots or to shield the pin2dmd from interference. No sorry. We are trying different things to get a better signal quality, but at this time, there is no result that fix this kind of problems. But when someone finds anything to made it better, just contact me and I will implent that in the layout from the Shields.

Content Provider UncleSash Posted January 6, 2016 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 6, 2016 Due to the SD-Card Problems:A lot User have some issues with compatible micro SD-Cards. Today I got a new mail in Order with "11x microSD reader" for Round 4.But... hey... I ordered the wrong ones... nothing bad. (don´t worry, everybody in round 4 is getting a microSD reader)The ones that I get, was an "normal SD-Card" reader. Well... so far my fault. But I tryd to use the "big SD Card reader" with our Pin2DMD shield, because of an similiar interface (just the PinOut is different).1st try: all signals, gnd, and power are the same. nothing changes2nd try: all signals, gnd are the same, just 5V is replaced with the 3V for the interface and suprise suprise: It works out very good! I can read al my microSD Card (with microSD to SD adapter) and also SD Cards up to 32GB. But first I have to copy the Pin2DMD.dat to the SD card for the 32GB SD Card, the FW needs to long to search an empty SD Card (size bigger as 8GB).Now my question to all of you:Should we use a normal sized SD-card or an microSD Card with the new shield in rev 2.0 ?Don´t worry, we found for the new rev 2.0 an microSD reader that don´t have the issues with compatibility. - Sascha
martymoose69
I am not fussed What ever works best I think full size gives more options for cards
Content Provider UncleSash Posted January 7, 2016 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 7, 2016 I am not fussed What ever works best I think full size gives more options for cards That is also my thinking and the reason why I'm asking. I work on the new Layout and it is not final. And with my stupid missorder, I found something new what could be usefull in the new Layout. When we found more User, until Sunday January the 10th, who don´t want the microSD, I will switch to the bigger one and change the final Layout. And it is the same price for both readers. - Sascha

Content Provider UncleSash Posted January 9, 2016 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 9, 2016 Hello everybody.Today I created a real Pinball Machine DotMatrixDisplay (DMD) Filter Module. (Idea comes from Lucky1 and Steve45!)That helps to Filter the Signal from a real Pinball Machine DotMatrixDisplay (DMD) to Pin2DMD RGB.Some guys in Germany use this Filter allready at home and it helps a lot!I´m looking for the correct Header to put this add on card directly into the shield. When not, you have to creat a short Ribbon cable with connectors or maybe dupont jumper wire.Update:I found the perfet females, so you can direclty plug the mini PCB to your Pin2DMD Shield! It is with coding nozzle! So no mistakes when yo want to connect the add on to the shield!Screenshot from my Layout: Attached is the Schematic:after some minor issues on my side with the names in the Schematic, here the NEW Schematic for free... Pin2DMD - DMD_R-C-Filter_Schematic.pdf Aviable with my next PCB Order: 10pcs (must be in the US in the last week of January or the 1st week February, order is placed) The Pricing: 5.00 USD PCB fully assembeld with Header, resistor, caps (there is no money for me, it is 1:1 my costs) 2.50 USD PCB only 4.00 USD for every User on Round 4 with there Package (until stock is exhausted) plus Shipping in an enevlope inside US 3 USD (outside from US 7 USD)PM me when someone is interested in. You've paid for Priority Air Mail (not EMS), trouble is it's only treated as priority by USPS and Aus Post don't reciprocate. Wait until it lands in Aus - the tracking page on the USPS website will show that it is in Australia, yet the Aus Post tracking page will only show that it has left USA........ My package took 5 days to leave the US (via LA), it landed in Sydney the next day and then took SIX WORKING DAYS to reach my PO Box. Not happy! **UncleSash** it may be worth noting that Priority Mail probably isn't worth the extra cost when sending to anyone in Australia, as it still takes way more than 10 days from the time you send it to the time we get it. I might PM you and see if I can assist in sorting out the most suitable postal option.

Content Provider UncleSash Posted January 17, 2016 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 17, 2016 Rev 1.4 PCB's are arrived! But now some bad news: I'm in Detroit until Saturday the 23rd. And then I move from AL to SC. So all have to wait 2-3 more weeks.
Content Provider UncleSash Posted January 17, 2016 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 17, 2016 Now some good news! Rev 2.0 is ready and is coming in 2 weeks! It has the R/C filter for real pinball use integrated! But they are going to be more expensive. I will update the order page (post #1) in the next days. All users from round 4 can upgrade to rev 2.0 when they use a real Pinball. There is a small up-charge but nothing big. Just send me a PM when you are interested in an upgrade! Regular orders for rev 2.0 are taken AFTER I update the Order page (post #1)!
