Hello Folks.
I am back from Vacation, but not in Town for the next week.

But I Ordered the first batch from the V4 Shield, they should be available in 2 Weeks. (except the SD Card reader)
The PCB Design is the reference design from Lucky1.
I also Orderd the Original WaveShare micro SD Card Shield , from the Waveshare webdside (delivery takes 2-4 weeks)

The Price is all most the same.
just 5 Bugs more, because of teh Expensive SD Card Shield and the new Controller.
The rest is the same.

I have also 14 pcs V3 shields (+ 9 STM Dicovery Controllers), still here.
The will go for a nice Discounted price, when I am back in South Carolina (next week).

Hello Guys.

I have an update for all.

My Company send me to the Tesla Plant in CA.

The Plan was that my flight back home is on the 09-18-2017, but that plan changed.

Our Customer need me for Production Start up.

Now I stuck here for the next 1-2 weeks.

That means, that all Orders have to wait, until I am back Home in SC.

Sorry for that.

Sorry for a dumb question from a newbee, but is there any list of o V4 benefits over V3 so I can decide whether to wait for of new version or take advantage of V3 sale?

Maybe@Lucky1 is able to list the real benefits of the new V4 Shield.

But when you go within a V-Pin, is this V3 Sale offer perfect.
So far is understood him, are the new benefits more on the real Pinball side.
Like the CAN Bus output.
And thats it on the Hardware side for now.
But in the near future will be there a option to run it as replacement for old DataEast 128x16 DMDs.

The discovery board has a lot of hardware onboard like sound output or gyro which is not needed for pin2dmd but limits the number of usable pins for it. The Nucleo board is cleaner. The Nucleo design is also more future proof because it supports a wider range of processors without changing the pinout. So if STM decides to stop production for the discovery F4 board we already have an equivalent alternative. And even if they stop the production of the STM32F429 Nucleo board we can switch to a newer Nucleo board without changing the shield. From the functional side it is exactly the same except the 128x16 support for real DataEast pinball machines we recently added and the CAN bus interface we added without really having a specific use case in mind.

It is the Original PCB from MJR Webside.
I use his GERBER Files to Order PCBs.
Partlist is exactly the same!

http://mjrnet.org/pinscape/expansion-board.html

Everyone can Order PCBs for a low Price from my Thread here.

ALL PCB's are PCB ONLY!
NO PARTS!

The picture is just a reference, because I don't have the PCB's in my Hands, they need 2 weeks to get delivered.
As soon I get them, I will update the pictures!

But I think the Price is interesting.

I orderd a batch of 10 each.

And when it works out, I will Order more and reduce the Price a little bit more (from 4 USD down to 3USD each, Set of 3 would be 7 USD then).
But first, must the 1st batch been sold.

Inventory clearance from some old Order V4 Shields.
The very 1st official design has one missing connection.
And now I have over 30 boards for V-Pin only.
Anyone need some?

1.75 USD each (pcb only, + shipping) quantity discount possible

1 set of V-Pin only parts (NO WiFi, NO max232, NO real pin enhancer ) = 10 USD
(WiFi is extra 5 USD, but not really needed for V-Pin, because of the uninterrupted USB connection)

Nucleo 144 = 27.00 USD

Hello VPU User.

Tonight was the time to upgrade mit Go-DMD Clock with Ambi Light.

My Go-DMD runs with a VET6 Board (the cheaper one) and not with the Pin2DMD Shield.

Hardware for my Test:

  • VET6 Board (FW godmd-stm32-vet6-v1.07-59)
  • Shield (bei Steve)
  • CD74HCT245E (THT IC for easy Soldering)  with a small DIY dirty Adapter Board
  • 8x8 Feld WS2812 Matrix field

And I reached the Goal after 20 minutes.
It looks very nice.

The next step is, to integrate the WiFi, make it attachable directly to the LED Display and my Frame for P2.5 Panels (like the Pin2DMD).

Is anyone interested in that?
When YES, I will go forward and create a nice Shield for it.

- Sascha
