evile
If you connected only 2 panels and still get such a picture you can try to slow down the data output to the panels by increasing this value in rgb_out.c TIM_TimeBaseStructure.TIM_Period = 1; Try 2 and see if it is getting better. Content Provider steve45 Posted January 5, 2016 Content Provider Share Posted January 5, 2016 Today I've done some experiments: I included a video frame capturer in the pin2dmd editor to facilitate every video as source for dmd animation. I extended pin2dmd firmware to replay animation from a arbitrary color depth (as long as there is enough memory). e voila ... It is based on JavaCV and can read many common video formats ... It is used - just for testing - on my DrWho (as always) and triggered as replacement frame sequence, whenever the original logo shows up in attract mode. Oh forgot to mention: data files are stored on the sd card, video sequence in this demo is about 4.3 MB ps: as always flickering is just in the recording Cheers Steve

fly
please help. as I said earlier, after a new software installation, I still have the message "PIN2DMD not found" I will do everything the same way as the previous installation Today I bought a new STM324, and still the same so they look my drivers. fly
I had the same error today. Do what it says, add that c99 option to the compile command. I can show a screen shot when I get to my computer later. First go to the View/Configuration menu... Then in that window, enter -std=c99 in the Misc Controls area, like this: With those changes it should build fine with just warnings. Thank you, it worked

Sorry I can not read polish. But it looks like that your system found 2 Pin2DMD. Because there is something like an unknown port in your "com and lpt ports". Did you tried the libusb fix? Which operating system? What kind of USB port? USB 1.x 2.x or 3.x?? We need more background information to help you out.
fly
Windows 10 Connecting the USB 2.0 earlier it was fine, but I reinstalled the software PIN2DMD, because I had a problem with editing the color of sd card. earlier and now I used the zadig
Content Provider UncleSash Posted January 9, 2016 Content Provider Share Posted January 9, 2016 Hello everybody.Today I created a real Pinball Machine DotMatrixDisplay (DMD) Filter Module. That helps to Filter the Signal from a real Pinball Machine DotMatrixDisplay (DMD) to Pin2DMD RGB. The Original Idea comes from Lucky1 and Steve45! (The amazing Heads behind the Pin2DMD) Some guys in Germany are allready using this Filter at home and it helps a lot!More Information, Schematic, Layout preview are in my Preorder Thread. Just check it out: http://vpuniverse.com/forums/topic/2250-pin2dmd-prorder-backorder/?p=26456 - Sascha

Content Provider UncleSash Posted January 9, 2016 Content Provider Share Posted January 9, 2016 Yes of course, it is ONLY for a real Pinball Machine DotMatrixDisplay (DMD) Module. The Idea comes from Lucky1 and Steve45! Just to make sure, that this cool stuff comes from the Pin2DMD Crew! Not from somebody else!
fly
how is this possible?? by pin2dmd.exe, recorded on the SD card color blue, formatted SD card inserted into the reader, it resets the STM32 (black button) and I still have the color blue I play the RS - blue, TOTAN-blue, LORD-blue, STTNG - colors from the palette pinmame, and later, so for every game, i'm cliks reset stm and again turns blue color
Content Provider lucky1 Posted January 10, 2016 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 10, 2016 You used quick format. Write a new pin2dmd.dat using the pin2dmd.exe tool.
fly
yes, quick format only that it is strange that how to save using pin2dmd.exe on the sd card do not have any file
fly
I already know what was the problem, Windows 10 badly format the card, I used the program: SDFormatter4 and is everything ok, and now operate the colors of pin2dmd editor Many different attempts, a lot of nerves by such trifle
krazyscotsman
Probably a dumb question or I'm just missing it, but is anyone sharing their updated color tables? What is the process of updating the tables to use the full color? Thanks to everyone. I have my DMD up and running with the original DMDs displaying correctly. Honestly, I was really looking for a cheap way to have a DMD, it's absolutely outstanding that a colored display for a fraction. Thanks everyone. ANDRESDC
Hello lucky1 !!! I bought the panels a few weeks ago and everything is perfect. I know that the panels should be P2.5 mm, 1/16 scan, 160*80mm x 2 and 64*32 pixels x 2. But what about "refresh frequency" ? because some sellers offer >400 hz, others >600 hz and others >1000hz or 1300hz as refresh frequency speed rate. Which is the perfect refresh frequency ? and what modifies ? perhaps you know... Thank you very much! Content Provider lucky1 Posted January 12, 2016 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 12, 2016 Didn´t recognize. So far the panels from Angela worked, but I have no idea what they are. I think the given value is the max freq. an dany lower should work fine.

OzStick
I've done some playing around with one of the panels and managed to get it working correctly on two different PCs now, so I must be doing something right. WOW THESE DMD PANELS ARE BRIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are a few quirks, which I suspected would be the case. One of them has me a bit confused, in that when exiting a PIN2DMD enabled table back to PinballX, the colour palate from that table imposes itself on the default DMD video used by PinballX. Am I missing something? Also interested in altering the default image but I have no idea how to go about doing that - it would be great if someone could please point me in the right direction. Content Provider lucky1 Posted January 22, 2016 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 22, 2016 Just to keep you updated with the latest PIN2DMD development. In the last few weeks of PIN2DMD a lot of things happened in the source. Here is a list of the latest additions - DATA EAST real pinball interface (beta) - Whitestar real pinball interface (beta) - Gottlieb real pinball interface (beta) - playback of custom frames (more colors) and animations triggered by keyframes (latest PIN2MD editor needed) - playback of animations (videos) thru USB port (new PIN2DMD.exe) - upload of frame and animation files thru USB to the sd-card - switched from libusb-win32 to libusb1.0 with pin2dmd.exe Since libusb1.0 is compatible to libusb-win32 AND winusb device drivers PIN2DMD.exe works now with all 3 drivers that zadig offers. I´m currently working on the modification of the usb part of the firmware to support WCID automated driver installation in windows. If the other applications like vpinmame and pinballx etc get also ported to libusb1.0 there is no more driver installation hassle in the future. Until then the driver can easily be switched using Zadig utility. Regards Lucky1
