Content Provider Itchigo Posted September 23, 2014 Content Provider Share Posted September 23, 2014 I put this up at Rogue, and I know I've shown it to some of you in chat. But I just think it's so cool! http://roguepinball.com/index.php?topic=896.msg3382#msg3382
lightpin
Very cool, but your second shot is the ironic result of the crap resolution on the Viking orbiter's imager. Every pixel on that photo represents about 1400 feet and the black spots are data errors. This is a muuuuuch better look at the Cydonia region:
Content Provider freneticamnesic Posted September 23, 2014 Content Provider Share Posted September 23, 2014 Hahahaha fuckin' science get out of here with your logic. Content Provider Itchigo Posted September 25, 2014 Author Content Provider Share Posted September 25, 2014 All I can say is the picture was given to me by the man who actually took it. Rogues have connections you know... But I get where you're coming from with the resolution. You can still see the "facial structure", but you need more imagination. lightpin
Itch that's incredible if you're pals with an engineer with such an impressive background! I bet he's got some amazing stories.
Content Provider Itchigo Posted September 27, 2014 Author Content Provider Share Posted September 27, 2014 Itch that's incredible if you're pals with an engineer with such an impressive background! I bet he's got some amazing stories. Yes, and Yes! He told me he got his start in computers in 1959 (yes that's right). Everyone had IBM experience, but no one had "Sygma Data Systems 7" experience because there were only 7 in the world at the time. When he came in to interview, guess what? There was one of the 7 right there, and he knew it! That's how he got into Nasa. He's 68 now, and that's why he likes Woodrails- because he played them in the day. The man is a machine- he makes JP look slow. This is from an Email: Here is my status as I have it: 1. I currently have four games packaged for release and ready to upload: Spitfire Preview Casino Diamond Lill -------- 2. Silver and Space Mission are completed, but I only show that you have Space Mission for beta, not Silver for beta. Is that correct? If so, I'll send you Silver ASAP. -------- 3. I have Twin Bill completed in VP8, needing conversion to VP9. -------- 4. Spot Bowler is completed except for the 10,000 numbers on the back glass which have been a b***h. -------- 5. The development pipeline -- Harbor Lites, Trade Winds, Marble Queen, Nine Sisters and T.K.O are in various stages of development in VP8 (i.e. WIPs). -------- 6. GenCo Stop and Go is done at one level in VP9, but I've pretty much abandoned it as I can't get it to play reasonably after repeated fiddling. -------- 7. Chicago Coin THING is done in VP9 except the sounds are all really crappy. I need to work on those at some point, but so far all my attempts have been failures. He is also interested in building a cab, having played mine. I believe his collection is down to 7 pins. He also made the comment last year "If I was younger I'd rewrite VP myself". This is Sygma Data Systems 9 with a whopping 128 kb of memory. (He's not in the picture).
