etherealmusic478
Hello, I'm new to this site, and it makes me happy to be part of it indeed. A truly awesome site!. Now to my question. I was wondering if anybody is working on desktop versions of the newer Stern tables? I've seen a few FS tables which is great to see, but since I only got one monitor, I was wondering if there will be regular verisons aswell? /Chris
Administrators Dazz Posted April 14, 2014 Administrators Share Posted April 14, 2014 Probably not.. depend on if the author wants to do a desktop version or not. In the case of the current tables that's been released; the author has no intentions of doing desktop versions. However, with that said, there isn't anything that's stopping anyone from rotating them for desktop use and releasing a patch for them.

etherealmusic478
I see. As for Hybrid tables, they're vertical too! lol! So that won't help much! Just wish I could rotate the damn tables in one click as easy as you rotate a picture! Bummer!
Content Provider gtxjoe Posted April 15, 2014 Content Provider Share Posted April 15, 2014 You can have a playable desktop version in less than a minute. Open table, click on Backdrop button on left side. Click on Options button if you not see the Backdrop options appear on the right. Under the Colors and Formatting section, change the values there to rotate and scale the table for desktop use. For example, I just tried Pirate of the Caribbean. Change: Inclination = 50 Field of View = 40 Layback = 0 XY Rotation = 360 X scale =1 Y Scale 1.1 Z scale 1 X offset = 0 Y offset = 0 Z offset = 0 While changing the values, look at the image in front of you to see how the table appearance changes. Play with the settings above until you are happy with the way it looks. This should work on many tables without needing to adjust anything else. etherealmusic478
Thank you so much for the help, "gtxjoe". I did what you suggested, and now I can play the FS tables, even though they do appear a bit smaller in size. But this will be good enough for now. And what's good about being able to play them this way is that I don't have to rotate the DMD display!. Excellent!
Content Provider gtxjoe Posted April 15, 2014 Content Provider Share Posted April 15, 2014 The values above are just an example. The first 3 settings adjust the perspective, so you can use this to tilt it back more. If necessary increase the X scale and Y Scale values to fill the screen. Adjust the X and Y offset to center the table after you increase scale. You could start with values from a desktop table you like and tweak as needed
Content Provider 85vett Posted April 15, 2014 Content Provider Share Posted April 15, 2014 Glad you got it to work. I don't use reel in any of my tables so they should be fairly easy to convert to desktop by following the directions from gtxjoe. If it's to small adjust the scaling and that will fix it. Us the preview window to size it up the way you like. With this all said, The way I do my lights and also some of the swrews/bolts wont line up correctly when you start chaning laybacks. Easy to adjust but don't be suprised if some of those things look a bit off. This is because I don't re-adjust the hights for screws and bolts for every single location. I'll make one that is low (about 55 units hit to start) one for the middle hights and one for the upper hieghts. I then use on of those three when I place them where I want. If the screw head is to high I just slide it down a bit and that gives it the look of being right on top of where it should be. Call me lazy if you'd like I just don't feel like adjusting 10 walls (makes up a screw) for every single one I place on a table (normally 10-20 of them) ;-)
