Content Provider Itchigo Posted January 12, 2013 Content Provider Share Posted January 12, 2013 Sorry, but I couldn't find a way to start a new thread within the group. I just changed video cards, I went through hell getting it to play nice. Now, all resolutions are where they were before, and everything is working... almost. When I fire up a B2s game I get the backglass on the playfield, or not at all. These were previously working games. The only thing that has changed is the resolution, and that has been restored to it's former settings, after installing the drivers. So the settings (screenres.txt) is stil correct. What now? Administrators Dazz Posted January 12, 2013 Administrators Share Posted January 12, 2013 Download and use the screenres editor from VPF and make sure your monitors and resolutions are set correctly.
Content Provider Itchigo Posted January 12, 2013 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 12, 2013 Eeeeeew. Thanks Dazz, but my screenres.txt hasn't changed and my monitors are set to the same resolution as before. i checked and I know they match. And, I am extending the screens BEFORE I play. 1920 (Playfield) 1080 1280 (Backglass) 1024 2 0 0 0 0 0 0
koadic
Changing video cards may change the monitor numbers that the B2S app sees, regardless of how they are numbered in the windows control panel. Just because windows is telling you it is monitor 2, it could actually be monitor 5 even if you don't have 5 monitors running http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=19687&p=180035
Content Provider Itchigo Posted January 15, 2013 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 15, 2013 I have 2 monitors, but what's mentioned there is exactly what's happening. What do I need to change?
blur
try to change b2s monitor number in fifth line - try 1,2,3,4,5,6,... until you find one that works. You also have that b2s debuging program that will list your real monitor numbers.
Content Provider Itchigo Posted January 16, 2013 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 16, 2013 Thanks Blur. I'll work on it and report back.
Content Provider Itchigo Posted January 16, 2013 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 16, 2013 I had played with this a before I posted. But changing line 5 numbers doesn't seem to do anything. Here's what I have: "1280"," Screen2ResX" "1024"," Screen2ResY" "0"," Screen2PosX" "0"," Screen2PosY" "\\.\DISPLAY2"," displayname" I've gone up to 6 on this line. "------------------------------------------------" "\\.\DISPLAY1"," First screen" "\\.\DISPLAY2"," Second screen" "------------------------------------------------" "\\.\DISPLAY2"," Selected screen" 0," Working Area Top" 1036," Working Area Bottom" 0," Working Area Left" 1920," Working Area Right"
Content Provider Itchigo Posted January 17, 2013 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 17, 2013 Ok, I give up. I tried all 7 numbers on that line and nothing is different. Just to be sure, I'm changing numbers on the b2s log.txt, right, and NOT the screenres.text? On the fifth line as Blur said, just try different numbers. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't get it.
Administrators Dazz Posted January 17, 2013 Administrators Share Posted January 17, 2013 No, you should be changing the numbers in the screenres.txt which should be located in your tables folder.
Content Provider Itchigo Posted January 17, 2013 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 17, 2013 Isn't line 5 the number OF monitors? Not monitor number? 1920 1080 1280 1024 2 *********** 0 0 0 0 0 0

Content Provider Itchigo Posted January 17, 2013 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 17, 2013 Edit: I finally got it. thewool
Isn't line 5 the number OF monitors? Not monitor number?1920 1080 1280 1024 2 *********** 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Line 5 is the number of the monitor you would like your b2s to appear on. This number needs to match the monitor number assigned by Windows. To check this in XP, right click on the desktop then go to properties. After you change GFX card, or plung/unplug monitors, Windows sometimes reassigns these numbers which can cock things up a bit.
Content Provider Itchigo Posted January 20, 2013 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 20, 2013 Thanks Wool, I didn't know that. I always thought it was number of monitors, not monitor number. I also didn't know that happened in windows when you change hardware until this thread.
