Original Table Download: n/a - this is the full table

1964 Midway Flying Turns - This is the HV version of my table. This the full table and not a patch.

This table is based on a 1964 Midway Flying Turns.

Instead of playing for points, the cars in the backbox race around for laps. You pick up car lengths by hitting slingshots, rollovers, and kickers. You aim the ball launcher with the black knob to shot for lit kickers or rollovers.

Special thanks go out to the following people:

Sabbat (Freddie the Monk) - Freddie help me in so many ways. He got me in touch with Osprey101 who owns a rare Midway Flying Turns. He gave me a ton of support and spot on advice about settings and game play tweaks. He found a bunch of bugs for me to fix before release with his extreme beta testing. Without him, the table would not be half of what it is.

Osprey101 (Shane) - for giving me a ton of details and images on this table. He was critical to getting the game play right. He also beta tested the table and gave me great feedback. A pinhead all the way! Great guy!

Hassanchop - for an awesome background for the table and for sending me animation frames for the record player. Super nice work! Great artist!

wildman - for advice, settings, and beta testing. Thanks dude.

Rawd - for letting me steal his flipper buzz sounds.

Bob, KEG, oooPLAYER1ooo, and a bunch of other guys in the chat room for helping and beta testing. Thanks guys.

Give me the resources/permission and I'll do it... :D

Permission is granted to anybody and always has been. I'd be happy to share all my resources on it too. Just don't keep coming back to me to explain how it works, your on your own with that. If I have to explain it, I might as well do it.

Nope, I can do it all. Even the animation. I just need the backglass, (and car pics) and a link to the table (fs version). The only thing I might ask (might) is what variable you used for whatever. But if I can follow Phil's coding, yours should be no problem.

I do tend to animate from vp rather than the editor though. Works just the same.

Nevermind. Look at all those reels....

The majority of them reels are the hand animation, you should just be able to move them off the screen and disable hands commented in the script. Other than that there are only 6 digits.

I'll play with it at work. But the hands were cool, really hate to lose them. I could easily do the Db2s for it though. I've had the table for some time, if you want to put the resources on dropbox, I'll take a crack at it.

And I never disable anything, I just move it offscreen where it can't be seen. Much easier.

Looks nice Itchy, I think most the cab guys would like to not see the rails or the knobs and buttons.

Your are going to have some fun times getting the z order figured out on the cars. it changes when they take the curves.

Good luck and I hope you do it and win a 6 pack.

how come there is no depth of angle in that ss? looks like its just a straight top down view. needs some layback man !

What I mean about the z-order is, in the front stretch the blue car is in front of the red, but coming out of the curve and going into the back stretch, the red car is in front. So playing around with the z-order is going to be the trick.

Disabling the hands is just a matter of setting one variable to false, it's commented in the script near the top.

The cars are all I have left. But I cant make them part of the backglass because they are not all scaled the same.

Z- Order? I was planning to use a Case Select like I do on Phil's games (different Phil).I have the code already written, I just have to make the actual backglass. All I have to do is call this sub whenever the car position is updated. B)

You do backglasses like I do 1 is always gi lighting. (It's been changed to 49). ;)

Sub BlueCarlength()    'Blue Car
          Controller.B2SSetData 1, 0
          Controller.B2SSetData 2, 0
          Controller.B2SSetData 3, 0
          Controller.B2SSetData 4, 0
          Controller.B2SSetData 5, 0
          Controller.B2SSetData 6, 0
          Controller.B2SSetData 7, 0
          Controller.B2SSetData 8, 0
          Controller.B2SSetData 9, 0
          Controller.B2SSetData 10, 0
          Controller.B2SSetData 20, 0
Select Case Carlength
Case 1:   Controller.B2SSetData 1, 1
Case 2:   Controller.B2SSetData 2, 1
Case 3:   Controller.B2SSetData 3, 1
Case 4:   Controller.B2SSetData 4, 1
Case 5:   Controller.B2SSetData 5, 1
Case 6:   Controller.B2SSetData 6, 1
Case 7:   Controller.B2SSetData 7, 1
Case 8:   Controller.B2SSetData 8, 1
Case 9:   Controller.B2SSetData 9, 1
Case 10:   Controller.B2SSetData 10, 1
Case 11:   Controller.B2SSetData 11, 1
Case 12:   Controller.B2SSetData 12, 1
Case 13:   Controller.B2SSetData 13, 1
Case 14:   Controller.B2SSetData 14, 1
Case 15:   Controller.B2SSetData 15, 1
Case 16:   Controller.B2SSetData 16, 1
Case 17:   Controller.B2SSetData 17, 1
Case 18:   Controller.B2SSetData 18, 1
Case 19:   Controller.B2SSetData 19, 1
Case 20:   Controller.B2SSetData 20, 1
Case 21:   Controller.B2SSetData 21, 1
Case 22:   Controller.B2SSetData 22, 1
Case 23:   Controller.B2SSetData 23, 1
Case 24:   Controller.B2SSetData 24, 1
Case 25:   Controller.B2SSetData 25, 1
Case 26:   Controller.B2SSetData 26, 1
Case 27:   Controller.B2SSetData 27, 1
End Select
End Sub

I'll shorten this with an array when I get time. I just wrote what came to mind.

I don't really care about the hands. Those reels have all been moved offscreen where you can't see then anyway.

z-order is not script.

z-order is what item is on top. It's a graphic setting.

When you are playing 2 players both cars are moving around the table and depending on if they pass each other in the front or the back, one of them has to show in front and if you don't have the z-order right is will look quite goofy.

You will find out soon enough.

What do you mean you are not going to put the cars in the backglass, that is the whole purpose of this.

It's like draw in front in VP.

I didn't say I wasn't going to put them in. The cars seem to be different sizes, so until I get them sized in unison I can't add them. Phil's going to resize them for me.

I gotcha on the Z order.

Nuff said. Test Successful.

I do have something I've NEVER seen before. A flickering light. Do these b2s lights burn out Stephan? :D

Rascal: Is there no Tilt or Game Over light on the backglass?

Current Status:

Have to fix Red Car Animation, and reset points (Red and Blue). Otherwise done.

However it pales next to the next one I'm working on...... (a bingo with about 175 lights).
