  1. Most of you will remember the guide that i created about 2 years ago which was a good overall general purpose guide for Virtual Pinball. We went Full Throttle in this 2nd version. We made a few modifications in the format. We decided to host the guide on our website instead of a PDF as we will keep updating it and this was not possible with the PDF version. We are restoring a 1975 Williams cabinet and will equip it will all the bells and whistles available. ( Addressable LED, Shaker, Gear, Chime, blower fan, dot matrix etc.. ) we have documented every section and will present it in a Youtube Video series released twice a week. As the Youtube episode gets released, the section covered by the Video will be unlocked on the website. ------------------------------------------------------- The complementary sections of the guide will be found on the website http://www.mameinabox.com - Pinball History: https://www.youtube....h?v=yvS6slWbBh4 - Parts list: https://www.youtube....v=pPA0OhFuBBg - Cabinet restoration: https://www.youtube....h?v=ikYdxunVAE8 - Cabinet Priming ,paint and repairing front coins door: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEiOHisq_Xk&t=23s - Removing rust from Pinball parts ( The easy way ) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3NnLbISG5U - Self adhesive vinyl installation ( Decals ) : https://www.youtube....h?v=mnNZZ1BQM0A - Installing cross supports and contactors: https://www.youtube....h?v=EAT64hAlM-g - Installing components mounting board : https://www.youtube....h?v=8l3vYTZgX8U - Building the DMD with a CNC machine : https://www.youtube....v=TxMS4UInSm4 - Setting up Addressable LED ring in speaker grill: https://www.youtube....h?v=-zvSngqQz24 - Setting up Dual Monitor in the Back box: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qekSVIv0QlA&t - Installing Diode on toys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyzH1pVlWX0 - Wiring contactors, Fuse holder, power step down https://youtu.be/7Lx1n6cJ-g8 - Installing buttons in the cabinet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVnDZkJR4sg - Installing a digital plunger kit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeLVIH5NPjM - Computer hardware and software the essentials: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkDcCitfKJY&t - Direct Output Framework ( DOF ) setup: https://youtu.be/qbfe12eL9_Y - Led-wiz: https://youtu.be/cxieZfF1lrQ - Sainsmart Board: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zj8qWDqQhgI& - Setting up Visual Pinball: https://www.youtube....v=SN3S6RtTko0 - Setting up Future Pinball: https://www.youtube....v=itsxm2E8vQQ - Xpadder: https://www.youtube....v=2Kohl6KHP80 - Pinball Arcade: https://www.youtube....v=mYqM8jRhF08 - DOF Config Overview: https://www.youtube....h?v=OR-CX1Xbu7U - Roms: https://www.youtube....?v=Y3GHdaueCMY - Pinball FX3: https://www.youtube....?v=xf2kafUfNGc - Setting up Pinball X: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRhNhlpiq_o& - Future DMD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7_vA8CHoNk - Setting up BAM ( Better Arcade Mode ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcF4SphaBW4 - Connecting a Gear motor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6o5fRiqQGg - DOFLINX: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BwxsyvU-Y8& - Installing a shaker motor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMwRbsBr_oM& - Installing a Knocker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XLD2l4DlE0 - Setting up Ultra DMD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-igS-TuwVWQ& Enjoy! 2. Hello folks. One User asked me today something very nice. He like to use a PCB where the resistor for the HIGH POWER RGB(W) LEDs are all together, for a cleaner look. So I designed a 100x100mm PCB with 5x RGBW (20 resistors). Schematic: VPIN RGBW resistor SCH.pdf Design: Now is my Question: Need anybody else a PCB like that? When YES, I go and Order the PCBs and sell them for 4 USD + parts + shipping. The 4 USD are really just the costs for the PCBs on my side. - Sascha
  3. I have written a little utility to make it easy for you to download the latest updates for your ledcontrol.ini and ledcontrol.nofeedback.ini files. To install and configure: Extract the attached Zip to the location you wish to run it in. I put mine in my HyperPin directory but it does not matter. Edit the ledcontrol_pull.bat file Enter in Values for Username, Password and your Visual Pinball Tables directory (this is where the ledcontrol files will be stored) Run ledcontrol_pull.bat. Note: You may want to add it to you HyperPin settings.ini's Startup Program section. Update: 1.1 - Improved login/session recognition 2.0 - Now using the new APIs (Note you need to overwrite both files and add your API Key (and possibly your VP Tables path) to the .BAT file. ledcontrol_pull.1.1.zip ledcontrol_pull.2.0.zip
  4. Hello everyone First of all, thanks in advance to everyone helping me with this! I've been building a Pinball Cabinet for the past few months and I am getting close to "finishing" it. If you want to check it out, use this link. My Pinball Cabinet (updates to come when everything is working) I am currently experiencing two issues with the Direct Output Framework. One shall be addressed here, the other one in this post: DOF issue #2: No flasher-feedback with otherwise working PinballX plugin I've been trying to solve these issues myself for the past few days/weeks, but failed, since I am not very experienced with DOF yet. I do not know whether these two issues are related. --- DOF issue #1: PWM-output on 2nd LEDWiz not working correctly - All RGB toys connected to a 2nd LEDWiz do not output in the full color spectrum. Only 7 colors are possible (red, lime/green, blue, yellow, cyan, magenta, white). It seems that the LEDs three channels are either «ON» or «OFF» and that the PWM/intensity settings are not handled properly by my current DOF setup. - DOF toys affected on the 2nd LEDWiz: RGB flippers (ports 5,6,7), RGB magnasave left (ports 10,11,12), RGB magnasave right (ports, 13,14,15), RGB undercab complex (ports 25,26,27). Those are all RGB toys connected to the 2nd LEDWiz. - When triggered by other software tools (LEDWiz software by GGG, LEDBlinky) all of the above outputs/ports behave normally. When adjusting intensities with those tools, single output colors are dimmable. And using multiple outputs/ports with different intensities results in a wider color spectrum. This is why I believe that my issue is related to my DOF setup or DOF itself and not to my LEDWiz controllers or related hardware (Zebsboards). - RGB toys connected to the 1st LEDWiz are not affected by this issue and light in full color spectrum. Those toys are: 5 flasher outside left throughout 5 flasher outside right. Ports used: 1-15. - When adjusting the «Custom Brigthness» setting in the DOF Config Tool in the Ports assignment tab, the brightness of all my RGB toys adjust properly, but still only with 7 colors for those on the 2nd LEDWiz. --- Further information on this issue and my current DOF setup. - I use this DOF R3 Beta version: DOF R3 Beta Build 5812.27024. As far as I remember, I already had this issue when using DOF R2. - I use this B2S Server version: B2S Server. - I use a two identical GlobalConfig files (globalconfig_B2SServer.xml and globalconfig_PinballX.xml) and the ini-Files created by the DOF Config Tool (directoutputconfig.ini and directoutputconfig2.ini), but no Cabinet.xml or dedicated table config files. - For now I only use 2 LEDWiz, which are listed in the «My Account» tab of the DOF Config Tool. A Teensy is supposed to be added soon. --- Help required As stated above, I am not very familiar with DOF yet and don't see a way to solve this issue myself. That's why I need your help and would greatly appreciate it. I feel that this issue, and the other one mentioned above, are limiting my experience while playing my Pinball Cabinet. So, what can I do to help you guys to help me solve these issues? What additional information, logs, xml-Files, ini-Files, screenshots, videos etc. do you need? Or do you maybe already have a solution or know someone who had the same or similar issues? I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys. Thanks again in advance! --- Best regards from Switzerland fuzgi --- 1st Edit: I just figured out that when I use DirectOutputConfigTester.exe at least the under cab complex RGB toy changes its color (within the full spectrum) when enabling / pulsing different table effects.

  8. Hello Folks. I hope this is not to Off Topic and maybe not search able somewhere else.... because I don´t find an explicit example and solutions of my Problem. But I heard already that also other people made similar experiences. Ok... here we go... My Situation was: PC (Desktop) with: Visual Pinball (8, 9.21, 9.92, 9.92 PhsMod, X) PinballX FrontEnd Pin2DMD DMD Display 2x LEDWizClone (1x Arduino Mega2560, 1x Arduino Leonardo) So far I had all running in the PinballX Frontend and everything except the DOF with VisualPinball. That means that PinballX was already working with the LED WIZ Clone and the added LEDs Now it was time to add the LEDWizClone into the DOF and play it with VisualPinball. I installed everything in my VisualPinball sub Folder (like on the DOF Install manual) DOF R1 and DOF R2!!! Made the DOF Config and placed the Files in the "config" Folder, unblock ALL DLLs. Activat the DOF/B2S Server in the Script from my Test Table (250cc). But nothing happens. I searched for 3 Days the web and found just nothing except one post in a german forum but without a solution. So I contacted the nice Guy from the Post in the German Forum and asked him. But he was away from Home and just gave my the hint to check my VisualPinball Folder structure and in 2 Weeks he will give more help (when he is back home). And don´t forget all the rest in the DOF Config Manual. Like the adjustment in the core.vbs, edit the table scripts, etc. DOF Manual - Install: http://directoutput.github.io/DirectOutput/installation.html DOF Manual - Table config: http://directoutput.github.io/DirectOutput/tableconfig.html Then I tried couple changes in the Folder Structure and the Final was that everything is working now. The Solution (change the Folder Structure): OLD and WRONG VisualPinball Folder Structure: Visual Pinball root: "D:\200 Vpin\VisualPinball" tables: "D:\200 Vpin\VisualPinball\tables" B2S Server: "D:\200 Vpin\VisualPinball\tables" DOF: "D:\200 Vpin\VisualPinballtables\plugins\DirectOutput" DOF Config: "D:\200 Vpin\VisualPinball\tables\plugins\DirectOutput\conf ig" NEW and ACCURATE (and the ONLY one that worked out for my) VisualPinball Folder Structure: Visual Pinball root: "C:\VisualPinball" tables: "C:\VisualPinball\tables" B2S Server: "C:\VisualPinball\tables" DOF: "C:\VisualPinball\tables\plugins\DirectOutput" DOF Config: "C:\VisualPinball\tables\plugins\DirectOutput\config" When everything is Set Up well, you will see the "PlugIn Settings" Button on the B2S Server Setting screen is now able to press like on this pictures: Here a picture from the Direct Output Test: (it may helps someone) I hope that my Post helps someone in the Future to avoid to search the web. best regards Sascha
  9. Hello, I have to ask because I haven't found anyone else using this method: I've got 8 contactors 230vac laying around, and it seems to be a pain in the *** to find 12vDC. But I have found cheap relays with a 12vdc coil that can handle up to 250v 10A. It is pretty simple to connect them to each other. 12vDC to the relay triggers the 230v contactor, I have tried it and they are really fast, with no noticeable delay. So am I missing something? If not - do I have to use diodes on the contactors, when they aren't really connected to the LedWiz? Diods on releys? I´m planing to use 500 mA fast blow fuses to all outputs on the LedWiz, is that the way to go?
  10. Hey guys, not sure if this is related to a LEDWIZ wiring issue but my 2nd light on the Flasher Lightbar (5 LED) turns on when I start the VirtuaPin with Green LED and does not shut off for about an hour or so. I cannot shut it off manually. Otherwise the Lightbar works fine with DOF and all the colors work great. It's always the same Green LED that turns on. Any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting this issue? This started happening about 4 weeks ago and appears to be getting worse as it used to shut off after 10 minutes now its taking an hour or so. Here is the bar I have: http://shop.zebsboards.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=61_60&product_id=64

  12. Hello, I am in need of some help with DOF! I tested out my LEDWiz and all outputs are (pretty much) working, so I know that this is not a hardware issue with the LEDWiz. I am wondering if I don't have the "correct" ledwiz for my configuration? Any help is greatly appreciated. I am chopping at the bit to get this thing up and running...yes, it is a new install; I probably should have said that. Below is my log of DOF. Also, my DOF is running and active in the backglass server when I run my visual pinball tables. 13. Hi I have a little issue in jpsalas cabinet 912 FS ripley's believe it or not table. I have about 30 tables and problem with no one. When I start table and insert coin every led and strobe start (think Is correct) but start to hit also knocker continuously. It stops only if I play or exit table. This happens only if I play with 320 roms (ripleysf (French), ripleysi (italian)...) but if I play with rom 310 or 302 dof doesn't work (not only knocker every wire of ledwiz) I check all the script and I think it's correct (apart DMD rol and b2s.server I changed anything else). In other forum topic table other people have this issue. Could be the dof config.ini? Thanks to all
  14. Hello to all! Today I come to the Virtual Plunger .. worth mentioning that I had many problems with customs .. in my country Argentina, it is very difficult to buy online. I mean by this .. pretended to buy a LedWiz good, but just leave a new law that puts many obstacles for foreign purchases. I saw many threads that use a module arduino .. which if I can buy in my country without any problem, the problem is that I know nothing of the operation thereof with VP. Anyone have any documentation on how to program the Arduino, I put my new Cab one knocker and a couple of buttons with LED's all. Someone can help me.. I put the same thread in VPF.
  15. Before I start I want to first acknowledge the work Darkfall did as this is just a modification of his concept/script. *** This tutorial assumes you have already installed the latest (at least WIP10) FPLaunch. This mod allows you to set your LEDs for Hyperpin as well as have a default configuration for Future Pinball and ooptionally DWJukebox. It also has a mechanism for setting custom led configs for Future Pinball tables and Visual Pinball tables not included in ledcontrol.ini such as EM based tables. Download LEDWizMod zip attached and unzip into your HyperPin/FPLaunch directory. Edit the settings.ini file in hyperpin/settings folder Under [startup Program] set the path to the LEDSet.bat file i.e. Executable = C:\HyperPin\LEDSet.bat Under [Exit Program] set the path to the LEDOff.bat file i.e. Executable = C:\HyperPin\LEDOff.bat Under [FPLaunch] set ledwiz=true Edit the ledwiz.xml file Set up your ports to match your setup. (Note you can also add additional ports for flashers and other items.) Configure the default settings for HyperPin, FuturePinball, and optionally DWJukeBox. Configure tables for Futurpinball or VisualPinball. In the case of Visual Pinball you only will want to do this for Tables not supported by the LEDWiz Configuration tool. Optional: If you want to use this with DWJukebox overwrite the jukebox.bat file from WIP10 with the one in the attached jukebox.zip. jukebox.zip LEDWizMod.1.02.zip
