Black Pyramid (Bally 1984) Authentic and Fantasy B2S Backglass The Black Pyramid (Bally 1984) VPX table was the very first table I loaded when I upgraded my cab to 4k - and wanted to make the best possible (with available resourced) animated b2 for it. I still play it regularly and it is one of my favorite tables. Started with an 'ok' backglass image, upscaled with AI, cleaned it up as best as possible - but it is still no where near perfect - but the Fantasy version makes up for any flaws. Created semi-authentic lighting with photoshop snippets and created 2 versions: Authentic Version - with 'turn on' feature Fantasy Version - added real 30 fps (49 frame) torch flame animation Because of the complexity of the Fantasy animation - I could not make 1 backglass with Authentic and Fantasy Modes, which is why there are 2 file versions. If the Fantasy version bogs-down your system, then use the Authentic version or set the B2s to skip frames or slow down the torch animation. Also included is a new clean wheel image. Topper and DMDs can be found in a one of my previous uploads: https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=14770 Both versions have been color matched and fully tested. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - DO NOT include any of these files with other downloads or projects without asking / getting permission first. This project took considerable time and I wanted to share it with everyone ... so "thanks" or comments in the support topic would be greatly appreciated. Tales from the Crypt (Data East 1993) - Classic Animating Alternate Backglass I have never been a fan of the original backglass for the Tales from the Crypt - Data East table. Partly because the artwork was made from images / covers from the HBO TV series and not the original EC Tales from the Crypt comic book that I have collected for years. Why there is a big image of 'Whoopi Goldberg' on the right side of the backglass remains a mystery to me. The actual table is a lot of fun to play, especially the new 'Bigus' mod version, so I decided to make a special backglass for a 2nd copy of the table in my cab so I can load up a different backglass version while still keeping the original installed. I used mostly images from the original Jack Davis illustrated artwork with the original 'crypt keeper' holding up a copy of Tales from the Crypt that changes every 10 seconds to feature a new cover image ... (22) beautiful and creepy artwork covers in all. I still managed to keep the TV series version of the Crypt Keeper as part of the backglass by giving him his own 'cover'. After cleaning up all the covers, I decided they looked 'too clean' so I added a distressed / aged paper texture over the whole backglass to give it a real vintage look. I also added an initial backglass 'turn on' when the backglass first loads. There are no other additional lighting fx or anything so the backglass won't slow down table gameplay by loading too many images at once. As an extra added bonus - I have included 2 additional wheel images that you can use in your front end if you did like me and have 1 copy of the table with the original backglass, and one with this new 'Limited Collector's Edition' version. This is a 2 and 3 screen version with a 'hide-able' grill for 3 screen users. Grill / DMD area were used and modified from 'Hauntfreaks' alternate backglass made several years ago. Enjoy! P.S. Some day I might make a new Tales from the Crypt VPX table using the original artwork from the comics and NOT the TV series art. Something nice and spooky showcasing the amazingly detailed artwork from the original 10 cent comics. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - This project took considerable time and I wanted to share it with everyone ... so "thanks" or comments in the support topic would be greatly appreciated. Night of the Living Dead '68 (Original 2018) B2S Backglass files. - - - - - - - - - - - - V. 1.2 - UPDATES - - - - - - - - - - - - Night of the Living Dead '68 (Original 2018) Mod Version 1.2 I wanted to do an overhaul / update to my original Night of the Living Dead VPX table and ended up making a complete update package for EVERYTHING you would need to enjoy this table no matter which version (normal or grunge) you choose. Not only did I make several table updates, I also created 2 new animated b2s backglass in 16x9 format, featuring new art and features, updated wheels, Topper videos, DMD videos for both RealDMDs and LCD DMDs. Because I have both the normal and the grunge versions of the table loaded into my cabinet - I wanted to make a grunge backglass different than the original version so the 2 tables look completely different in appearance. But you can use whichever version best suits your setup. PLEASE NOTE: These new backglass will only work with this new version of the NOTLD table because the table script has some changes that allow the new backglass to function. These backglass WILL NOT work with any other version or mod of this table. PLEASE REMEMBER TO SAY 'THANKS' THE FIRST POST IN THE SUPPORT TOPIC BY CLICKING ON THE 'THANKS' BUTTON. THIS IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED! TABLE UPDATES: - - - - - - - - - Includes JP Salas' LUT Mod (used with permission) allowing you to change the lighting / brightness of the table DURING gameplay. Hold down the LEFT MAGNASAVE and the press the RIGHT MAGNASAVE to change / cycle through the 8 LUT lighting options. Your selection will be automatically saved when you exit the table. - Added / Fixed scripting to incorporate new scoring option of 100,000 rollover. OTHER UPDATES: - - - - - - - - - 2 New B2S backglass - Multiple color 'Gottlieb' Topper videos - LCD DMD videos - RealDMD and RealColorDMD videos in both color and Black & White (NOTLD-68-RealColorDMD-128x32-Smooth = smoother moon movement) - 4 Updated New Wheel Images for your front end - Normal and Grunge. NOTE: Please put the contents of the downloaded 'Music' folder into the Music folder of you VPX folder. - - - - - - - - Old Info: In order to accommodate just about everyone playing new table "mod" creation, we decided it would be best to make backglass files that would suit everyone's setup. There are 2 version of the backglass, a 4x3 version scaled to the size originally used for the Out of Sight (Gottlieb 1974) table which this mod was based on, but also include a 16x9 version in the correct aspect ratio for "cabinet" players using 16x9 monitors. Thanks to Loserman76 for the original table / backglass and to my collaborator Xenonph who without his help these new table(s) wouldn't have been possible.

This was a labor of love pinball table created as a dedication to the late, great filmmaker George A. This film set the benchmark and tone for all "zombie" movies and TV shows that followed. How many filmmakers created a genre that has been imitated, copied and downright ripped off like the one he started on a shoe-string budget? None. When I first saw this incredible B&W classic in the late 70s - early 80s, it absolutely changed my life. I was in awe of how he was able to create tension and fear without ANY blood and guts at all. It turns out, when they made the film, they had a very small budget and couldn't afford anything like that ... but DID add these elements in later films like "Dawn of the Dead" in 1978. For his amazing creativity, wonderful personality, and moral message within each of his films, he was truly one of a kind, and will be missed. He may be gone ... but his incredible movies will be watched and remembered forever. George A. Romero (1940 – 2017) - father, film maker, friend, may you rest in peace. ------------- This is a graphics and sound mod of Out of Sight (Gottlieb 1974). Thanks to Loserman76 for allowing us to mod his original table. I chose his table because it played perfectly to what I wanted for this new table design and could be adjusted and modified fairly easily. His exact words when asked permission were: "Go for it!". Original Out of Sight (Gottlieb 1974) can be found here: http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=13254 Every graphic / image from the original table has been re-drawn (from scratch), heavily modified, or swapped out completely for new ones for a brand new layout. Multiple elements were also moved and adjusted to work with the new layout design. This table would not have been possible without the hard work, dedication and collaboration from Xenonph. Well known for his great sound and "flashers" mods to several tables, this time around he REALLY "stepped up to the plate" and took a BIG swing at adding all the additional features of sound, lighting, and additional extensive scripting this table needed. I am very grateful to have collaborated with such a talent as him. With every project, he goes over and above what is expected and never ceases to amaze me to how much he contributes to making tables and here on the forums. I can't thank him enough for weeks of time he put into making this table with me. This new table is NOT a solo release. This is a collaborative release from both me (HiRez00) AND Xenonph. There are 2 versions of this Night of the Living Dead (1968) table you can download: NOTLD-68 Mod v.1.x and NOTLD-68 Grunge-Mod v.1.x. NOTLD-68 Mod v.1.x is the standard 'clean and new' looking version. NOTLD-68 Grunge-Mod v.1.x is a totally 'distressed' and 'grunge' looking version as if this table was originally designed by Gottlieb and built and then stored in an old barn or warehouse for 40+ years ... to be recently discovered and played. Both tables play exactly the same and use the same custom 'Music' files. The grunge mod started as an experiment to see if we could do it realistically, and it turned out amazing. I am partial to the 'Grunge-Mod' version and prefer that version now. Because this was originally a EM (Electro-Mechanical) table, there are no ROMs to download or install. Place the files in the 'music' folder in your music folder located where you installed Visual Pinball - VPX. (DO NOT PLAY THE MUSIC AS THIS MAY ADD A TAG TO MP3 AND RENDER MP3 USELESS!!) If you would like to change the game options / settings (3 ball and 5 ball and bonus options), when game is not in progress, holding down left flipper for about 3-5 seconds will bring up the options menu. Left Flipper selects item and Right flipper changes option. An original 'Wheel Image Pack' with multiple versions of the wheel logos can be downloaded here: http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=13586 If you plan on using this table in a cabinet, we have created 2 versions of the backglass, one in approx 4x3 aspect ratio and one in 16x9 aspect ratio for widescreen monitors. You can download the original backglass files here: http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=40476 DOF commands (as in the original table) are included within the script, but you will need to add the functionality to your DirectOutputConfig.ini file as this is an EM table that has not been added to DOF. For those of you (like me) that are using a PinDMD3, we have included a folder of DMD images and MP4 videos you can use in conjuncture with whatever front end software you are using so your DMD will not remain blank or static during game play. Raven (Premier 1986) B2S Backglass + Alternate + Wheels PLEASE REMEMBER TO 'THANK YOU' AND 'LIKE' THE POST. Started with a "blah" backglass image. Clean up as best as possible. Recreated title and entire grill area to match the original. If anyone ever comes up with a BETTER backglass image - then I can swap it out for the existing one. In no way is the backglass perfect, but it is "ok" quality now. I also created an "alternate" version with a different character featured. The original backglass had a single fluorescent light illuminating the whole backglass - so I did my best to keep it authentic. Backglass only has a basic simulated "TURN ON" animation. Includes grill for 2-screen users with the option to 'Hide Grill' for 3-screen / cab users. Use the Grill: Hidden feature of B2S Backglass Server to hide the grill for 3 screen users. Also included is 2 new wheel images for your front end. Be sure to "rename" the backglass to the same file name as your VPX table. - - - - - - - - - PLEASE REMEMBER TO 'THANK YOU' AND 'LIKE' THE POST. Metallica Premium + Pro (Stern 2013) B2S Dual Backglass + BG Video + Wheels + More PLEASE REMEMBER TO SAY 'THANKS'. THIS IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED! The original backglass for these pinballs were simple translites with a single fluorescent bulb and wasn't very interesting, so I decided to make a couple new "authentic" and "fantasy" b2s backglasses that were the full original bacgkglass images - i.e.: not cropped. Both backglass are Dual Mode with Authentic (simulated turn on and constant illumination) and Fantasy (basic light animation). For Fantasy Mode - I deliberately did NOT tie any of the b2s lights / animations to the table ROMs, solenoids, or lamps, because this table is a heavy resource load for VPX and I have found that some other b2s's made for this table actually create "ball-stutter" and slow down gameplay dramatically when communicating with the b2s. Hence why I created simple looping / lighting animation instead. I also created MP4 video animation versions (PBX Videos) that don't use the actual b2s file at all to create animated lighting that is not possible with the b2s server. I actually created the MP4 video versions FIRST for my cab - and then made the B2S versions and additional materials strictly for other to have / use if so desired. I will explain more on how to use these MP4 versions further down in this post. Backglasses includes grill for 2-screen users with the option to 'Hide Grill' for 3-screen / cab users. Use the Grill: Hidden feature of B2S Backglass Server to hide the grill for 3 screen users. Also included is a few new wheel images (for the new backglass style), and a RealColorDMD avi and MP4 file video for your front end. There is also a new 1280x390 topper video for the Metallica Pro Edition version that is an add on the existing Metallica Toppers I did a few months ago. If you need the other topper videos, they are here: https://vpinball.com/VPBdownloads/metallica-premium-monsters-stern-2013-topperdmd-kit/ If you decide to use the b2s versions, be sure to "rename" the backglass to the same file name as your VPX table. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - In order to use any of the MP4 backglass videos instead of the B2s versions, the process is quite simple. Option 1: Remove the b2s backglass from your VPX/Tables folder so you only leave the VPX table in the VPX/Tables folder. Option 2: Make a copy of the Metallica VPX table and name it something different than the original table with NO corresponding / accompanying backglass. Make sure the name is really different than the original - so VPX will NOT load a backglass at all when loading the table. In PinballX, using the Game Manager, go to the existing (if you simply removed the b2s backglass from the Tables folder) or new / renamed table and use the 'Import' option for that table and import the backglass MP4 of your choice. You can also do this by naming the backglass MP4 video of your choice exact the same as your table and put the MP4 in the "PinballX/Media/VPX/Backglass Videos" folder. Please note: Your 'path' to your media / backglass videos might be different than the one I listed here. In PinballX 'Game Manager' make sure you have 'Hide Backglass' UNCHECKED. That way when you load the table through PinballX - when PinballX goes to load the table, it will keep the backglass video running the whole time as if it was the actual backglass. Everything else should play exactly as it should with the table, but now you have a cool VIDEO backglass running instead that in no way will slow down the table / gameplay. I've used this process / technique for several other DMD tables where the backglass is generally static and it works very well. All files have been fully tested. Black Sabbath - Animated Video Backglass + Extras This special VIDEO backglass for Black Sabbath - Music Table VPX table. This NOT a B2S file because what I wanted to do for my setup isn't possible as a b2s backglass file. These have been made for 3 screen users ONLY that have the DMD on a separate screen or Real DMD as this table uses UltraDMD. Backglass videos are ANIMATED 1920x1080 HD VIDEOS that continuously / seamlessly loop in both your front end system or when you play the actual table. 2 different video backglass styles / looks to choose from. Also included a couple of wheel images and 1280x390 topper image. THIS IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - HOW TO USE VIA PINBALLX : - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 1.) Make sure you name / rename the VPX table a completely different name than any other version of the table you may have. So instead of naming the table Black Sabbath.vpx - name the table BlkSab-Alt.vpx. This will prevent VPX from trying to "match" the b2s file to the table when it loads. You should NOT rename any b2s to that file name. It should load without any backglass present because there is no backglass named that special name or even close to that name. You only have to use this step if you want to have 2 copies of the table, 1 with a real b2s and one with this new VIDEO backglass. 2.) Load PinballX's game manager and select "Add New" table. Use the manager to add the BlkSab-Alt.vpx table as the table name. You can set the Description to whatever you want ... Using the pulldown menu, and select Backglass - and load the backglass .MP4 file you want to use. 3.) IMPORTANT: Directly under the Table name and Description for this table in PinballX, there is a row of check boxes. Make sure "Hide Backglass" is UNCHECKED. This will keep the backglass video running when load the table through PinballX and keep it on the screen looping while you are playing the table. 4.) Load PinballX, scroll through to this particular table, and go ahead and load it ... and go PLAY pinball! That's it! Similar styled front ends can use "basically" the same process. but I only use PinballX at the moment so I cannot provide any additional info how to use other front end systems. - - - - - - - - - This project took considerable time ... so "thanks" or comments in the support topic would be greatly appreciated. Night of the Living Dead '68 (Original 2018) Mod Version 1.0 by HiRez00 and Xenonph This is my first official mod / table release, and I wanted to do something unique and special with it. This was a labor of love pinball table created as a dedication to the late, great filmmaker George A. Romero, who single-handedly created and stamped the "zombie" genre with his original classic "Night of the Living Dead" in 1968. This film set the benchmark and tone for all "zombie" movies and TV shows that followed. Had he not made this great film that terrified millions of people, the zombie trend that is now upon us would have never existed, ever. How many filmmakers created a genre that has been imitated, copied and downright ripped off like the one he started on a shoe-string budget? None. This SPECIAL EDITION B2S Backglass, and Special Video Backglass Version were made especially for Siggi's Jurassic Park table mod, BUT ... you can always use them as an alternate backglass set for ANY Jurassic Park (Data East 1993) VPX table. The original backglass / translite for this pinball wasn't very interesting, so I decided to make a new backglass using a brand new / high-resolution alternate image "authentic" and "fantasy" b2s backglass fx. Backglass is Dual Mode with Authentic (simulated turn on and constant illumination) and Fantasy (basic light animation). The special VIDEO backglass (included in HD - 1920 x 1080 and 2K - 2200 x 1238 format resolutions) was made because what I wanted to do with this VIDEO backglass was not possible with a b2s file (lighting and rain fx) without either a huge file size or the risk of slowing down the tables gameplay - ie: ball stutter. I explain how to use the VIDEO version of the backglass further in this post. That's why I opted to make VIDEO version that continuously loops, instead. This drastically reduces any lag or stutter that would happen with a multi-frame bs2 backglass file. I personally am using the 2k special backglass video in my cabinet and NOT the B2S animated backglass (cuz it is way cooler!) - but I still made the B2S versions for both 2 and 3 screen users so they wouldn't feel left out. I also made a couple of mew wheel images specifically for this backglass / video if you decide to have multiple versions of the table in your setup. Real Color DMD users will be happy to see I also included a RealColorDMD AVI and MP4 using snippets from the real dmd + a couple animations and additions I did by hand - i.e.: the T-Rex walking across the logo. Backglass videos, wheels, and topper videos have been split into separate .zip files so you only need to download what you want / need. All files have been tested. This will prevent VPX from trying to "match" the b2s file to the table when it loads. You should NOT rename any Jurassic Park b2s to that file name. It should load without any backglass present because there is no backglass named that special name. 2.) Load PinballX's game manager and select "Add New" table. Use the manager to add the JP-Special (Data East 1993) table as the table name. You can set the Description to whatever you want ... Using the Import pulldown menu, and select Backglass - and load the backglass .MP4 file. Load the other stuff if you want at this time, i.e.: Wheel Image, Topper, etc. - - - - - - - - - This project took A HUGE amount of time ... so "thanks" or comments in the support topic would be greatly appreciated. Paragon (Bally 1979) B2S Backglass + Alternate + Wheel I came across a decent image of the original backglass art and decided to make a completely new b2s backglass from it. I was able to match the fonts and 'semi-authentic' light locations / brightnesses and backglass colors to the original. By redrawing the 'Paragon' title for the backglass, I could also include a good quality wheel image as well. There are 2 different versions of this great backglass. 1.) Authentic backglass that matches the original. 2.) Semi-Nude version with the same lighting / functions as the original. Download either one or both of them. 19. View File Jurassic Park (Data East 1993) Deluxe B2S Dual Backglass + Special BG Video + Wheels + More This SPECIAL EDITION B2S Backglass, and Special Video Backglass Version were made especially for Siggi's Jurassic Park table mod, BUT ... you can always use them as an alternate backglass set for ANY Jurassic Park (Data East 1993) VPX table. 20. View File Metallica Premium + Pro (Stern 2013) B2S Dual Backglass + BG Video + Wheels + More Metallica Premium + Pro (Stern 2013) B2S Dual Backglass + BG Video + Wheels + More PLEASE REMEMBER TO SAY 'THANKS'. Sharkey's Shootout (Stern 2000) B2S Backglass + Wheels Started with an "fair" backglass image. Clean up as best as possible. Re-did most of the text and logos so they would be better and clean images. In no way is the backglass perfect, but it is "ok" quality now. BTW: I am not responsible for Jeanette Lee's miniature-looking 'left arm'. That's how it was on the original backglass. - - - - - - - - - This project took considerable time and wanted to share ... so "thanks" or comments in the support topic would be greatly appreciated.
