  1. View File Beach Bums 1.0 (2018) Welcome to the Beach! Surf's up Brah! Get your sex wax and board ready for a radical ride on the gnarliest waves and unleash your Big Kahuna!! This is BEACH BUMS!! Hey all, thank you to everyone on this awesome site for giving me the opportunity to share my table. So, since this is my first attempt at anything Visual Pinball, please go easy on me. lol. *gulp* First of all, a short backstory to why I even did this in the first place... A few years ago, I bought a real Fascination cocktail pinball called "Roy Clark, The Entertainer". Nothing against Roy Clark (and Hee Haw), but I decided I wanted to refurbish and re-theme the table (see before and after pic). The theme itself was based off of my favorite slot machine IGT's "Catch-A-Wave". There were only 2000 plays on this table when I bought it and it played perfectly. Unfortunately, after re-theming it and putting it back together, it doesn't work anymore. I don't know what I did, and I've had pin techs come look at it, but still can't fix it. Anyway, backstory aside, I decided to use all my original artwork, along with new artwork, and models, to bring you a VPX version of my theme and here it is! I'd like to thank everyone for helping me make this table possible... *First and foremost, I want to thank BorgDog for his original Hollywood Heat table, and for letting me mod it to begin with. *Thank you again, BorgDog, for all your scripting guru knowledge and help (and for your patience) *Thank you xenonph for all your help from the very beginning. Couldn't have done it without you too. *Thank you Hauntfreaks for your B2S help! *Thank you Flupper for your awesomely beautiful ramp. *And a HUGE thank you to the VPX and VPM developers, who make this all possible!! Note: Beach Bums uses a slightly modded "hlywoodh" rom for scoring. It is included in this file, although it will interfere, if you have an existing HH rom, sorry :(. Also included is background and bonus music MP3's that will need to install in your VPX music folder. Don't forget to turn off all original HH sounds, changeable in the script, to hear the included MP3's and such. Thank you to everyone and I hope you all have as much fun playing this table as I did making it. 8. REVISED: Script GURU needed...

Hey everyone, I had a few people ask for a bit more information on what exactly I needed for the script on my Hollywood Heat mod. Hopefully someone out there looks at this and realizes it’s an easy addition to the script, so here goes. I’m using Borgdog’s HH and setting the rom sounds to off in the script and using my own background music, which is located in the music folder. Basically, all I need to do is play music and/or sound effects when the balls are released for the multiball bonus, then ends when it’s over. Basic sequence: 1. Balls release. 2. background music volume decreases. 3. multiball bonus music/sounds play until the 2 released balls have drained and you’re back to one (or none if you lose all at once). 4. multiball bonus music/sounds ends or fades out. 5. background music returns to normal volume. The trick is that when you still have locked or captive balls on the field, then the bonus music doesn’t activate when the balls are automatically released when the game is over. Can this be done? Please help if you can or at least point me in the right direction. I am far from a scripter, so any help would surely be appreciated. Thank you all in advance. Cheers!
  9. Scripting guru needed...

Hey everyone. I’m working on a mod of Hollywood Heat and I want to add script that basically hasn’t been tried before with this particular table. I was almost done then I hit a wall trying to figure it out. It’s basically a multiball tweak. I’m sure one of the many great scripters out there could easily do it, so if anyone could help or at least lead me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it. PM me for the details. Thank you all in advance.

  14. @Thalamus: Tried that, still the same error. @HP, yep, patched 1.0.9 and 1.0.10. HP, your table and DMD are great. I guess I'll just live without the BG. I'm stumped.
  15. Okay, I did update to the latest file located here on VPU. Installed the original and then updated to the latest within the download files. It's still doing it. Here is what I get after enabling directb2s in the game's settings... with the table, pov and directb2s in my VPX table folder. Is there a newer version out there somewhere other than what is available on here in the downloads? I cannot get my b2s server to start the evil dead directb2s from my VPX tables folder. Everything else works, just no BG.
