Hiya Senseless Note you are using win10 - did you do anything specific to get the window looking complete at all under Win10? Steve has tried best he can, however my editing window opens too small for the text contained, meaning that i have to then resize it, but then it screws up the content text... Many thanks!

Thanks Steve Found the Key on the Card However it crashes when i try to open it... Click on "Choose" and select the Key, and i get... 37052 [main] INFO RegisterLicense - loading license file: E:\pin2dmd.key 37053 [main] ERROR PinDmdEditor - unexpected error: {} java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 7 at com.rinke.solutions.pinball.ui.RegisterLicense.choose(RegisterLicense.java:158) at com.rinke.solutions.pinball.ui.RegisterLicense.lambda$createContents$2(RegisterLicense.java:109) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.EventTable.sendEvent(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Widget.sendEvent(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.runDeferredEvents(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.readAndDispatch(Unknown Source) at com.rinke.solutions.pinball.PinDmdEditor.open(PinDmdEditor.java:585) at com.rinke.solutions.pinball.PinDmdEditor$1.run(PinDmdEditor.java:434) at org.eclipse.core.databinding.observable.Realm.runWithDefault(Realm.java:332) at com.rinke.solutions.pinball.PinDmdEditor.main(PinDmdEditor.java:430) Caused by: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 7 at com.rinke.solutions.pinball.license.LicenseManagerImpl.verify(LicenseManagerImpl.java:169) at com.rinke.solutions.pinball.ui.RegisterLicense.choose(RegisterLicense.java:156) ... 9 more 37054 [main] INFO PinDmdEditor - entering event loop

Good thinking - Will go take a look This is on Windows 10 running... Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_131-b11) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 25.131-b11, mixed mode, sharing) Screen is fairly hi-res (3200x1800), however at 200%..... Dont have a problem with anything else - If it resized/scaled then it would perfect! Thanks Paul

Hi Guys, Has been a while since i have used pin2dmd editor, so please excuse me as i have forgotten.... Under "Register" it asks for licence file - is this the same as the licence for the modules (and if so, any way i can get mine re-sent again?), or is a different registration ? Also, the default window for Pin2Dmd opens fairly small - i have to open it larger, and it doesnt really re-size... What i get is attached.. any suggestions on how i can fix it? Many thanks again (and apologies!) Paul

Steve, Quick Question - Am running 64 bit windows machine with 64 bit OS (Win10) - why does the 64 bit version not seem to run for me?? (32 bit is fine. Was the same in Win7 before i re-installed Win10!) Any ideas? Also - if i just rename the 32 bit version (with no .exe as mentioned above) - it refuses to run - "this App cant run on your pc".... oops! So currently i cant run wither of the new versions! Cheers Paul

  10. Pin2Dmd Editor

Am Creating a fresh card after firmware update to 2.3.2 However I go to create a new pin2dmd.dat, Select WPC95, and also put the renamed pin2dmd.key on there also, however when i select WPC (and VGA) I boot the display, and it comes up with "Gottleib" on the bottom. Basically nothing ties up with WPC95 at all.... When i select pinmamemono, it comes up with Bally/Williams.... Somethig seems screwed up - however not sure if software or Firmware....... (using 1.0.21.0, and also old version 1.0.20.0 too, which worked successfully last time!)... Any thoughts?? Cheers Paul
  11. Hi all, So - Whilst this sub-forum is primarilly about the Pin2DMD devices, I have one of the new DMD ST32's from PinballSp in Spain. Whilst this sounds like it's off topic, it still uses Lucky1's firmware, and still uses Steve's Pin2dmd editor, so no changes for those of you that are familiar with it Why Safecracker? Well it's something that colordmd arent going to touch with their range of LCD's since these are physically too big to fit. There is no spare room around the DMD above standard size, so until they come up with their rumored LED boards, and then code the thing, this IS the only solution Ok - so trying to get my head around this keyframe and pallette malarky (has anyone got a link to a decent youtube video that explains these and how they interact with pinball editor?? Steve's make sense to a point, however only seem to scratch the surface). I can grab the images using pinmame and the special file, so figured i would start with the standard attraction screens, and progress from there. The first question i have is - How do people cope with scrolling screens? SC scrolls a lot from right to left ( <-), and really i would like to have different pallets for different screens. Not sure on recommended techniques for when the screens scroll, and also capture of these from the Raw files. Any advice??? Thanks Paul
  12. Hey Look At My P5S!

Ooh - Need a link for those please Darien
  13. Pin2Dmd On A Real Machine - Where To Start :)

Thanks Fly. Unfortunately info seems very fractional with snippits of information contained within multiple links. If i can find the info i'll look to do a walkthrough on how to produce for a real pinball machine Just looking for where to start really
  14. Hi all, So, I have access to a few real machines, and would love to be able to colourise these displays myself. I have a price from Rappelbox for the pin2dmd v2 kit which is good (as i'm in Europe), and will order this over the coming week or two Anyhow, I am due to spend a fair amount of time away from home on work over the coming 2 months. This means plenty of time to colour Hopefully this will be a fun journey So - Firstly, Where do i start?? I have the pin2dmd editor, how can i get started?. Also, I'll need to be able to drag the original roms etc into it to colour them.... 1. what software do i need to start on this? 2. How can i extract the info from the roms? They are bally/williams titles - can i use something like pinball browser?? 3. do i have to have the hardware before i can start to colour using the software? I am rather serious about this - I have another title that, looking forwards, will never be done by others (an obscure spanish title), so i like to think of this as practice before i start on that one! Some pointers would be good, or some advice as to where and how to start... Many thanks Paul
